Title: [2015-06-04] New York Stock Exchange begins monitoring bitcoin value
Post by: tyz on June 04, 2015, 10:02:45 AM
Bitcoin's march toward legitimacy just took a hop, skip and jump with the news that the New York Stock Exchange is going to start monitoring its value. The NYSE Bitcoin Index (NYBXT) will keep a beady eye on how much the cryptocurrency is worth, relative to the US dollar, with the data being pulled from Coinbase.

Yeah, once a day is a little bit useless for actual trading. But just being there on the NYSE gives a lot of "legitimacy" and it's good to let them know we're still here.
Anyone trading btc seriously has many other sources of price movement to consult.
This NYSE thing is a start though. Let's see what it looks like in a few months...
