Title: Anything worth CPU mining these days ?
Post by: Taiko3615 on June 04, 2015, 06:15:48 PM
I have tons of spare CPU power and I don't pay for electricity. (No worries it's not a botnet)

Which altcoin is worth CPU mining these days ?

I know Monero used to be good for that, but not anymore.

Thanks !

if you can do dash over 1 mhash with your cpu power can be worth it. depends the if the pool allow a low diff for cpu hashing..

RedWind [RD] They all attached to a meaningful project.
I think we should support that. :)

It is profitable to mine Monero with CPU if you undervolt the CPU Vcore.

Well he doesn't have to pay electric so he wouldn't have to undervolt anything correct?

CPU mining of Monero is more efficient than GPU mining. If he does not have to pay electricity, then efficiency is not in the equation. I do not know which coin.

I have a few CPUs mining XMR, if you dont have to pay for electricity then I would definitely get them to mine monero.

You could also consider holding a few coins for the possible event of a future higher price. If you dont have any mining expenses this is kind of like a free lottery ticket.

I mine XMR on our Server Farm, wrote a script so when any server drops to idle it starts up the ccminer and utilizes the cores for that.

Getting about 1.3khash per dual XEON system x 23 systems.

Its been doing this for months with no work on my part at all. I'd have to check balances in wallets but I'm sure were in the 1000s and 1000s of coins by now.

Just holding the XMR, this is one of the oldest surviving and strongly supported alts out there. It will go back up in time.
