Answers 1,3 and 4 are decent responses but the rest are garbage. Sending money and leaving the traditional banking services are the best.

Going the making a quick buck route only is possible when the we're at the end of a bear market and you're lucky enough to time it right which is not possible in reality but being disciplined at this point could help. Typically, you're lucky having thought about bitcoin now and getting your stash set at this point.

Leaving the traditional banking system.  If you are familiar with them, then you know that the modern mega banks are both the largest parasite on society and the worst existential risk to our safety.  I hate to think of all the children who get thrown in to wars because of greed.  It will be no better if the next bubble causes an even worse crash.  Political instability in less wealthy nations will spread.

A little bit of everything mentioned. I can save some money, because when i convert to bitcoins they stay there since is a work to get them out. This helps me save some money. Then bonus when the price goes up or... down ;)

there should be an option to select multiple voices, because for me it's not one thing only

3-4 are my choice

OP if there was option to chose multi answers for vote that could make it more interesting.I wanted to give vote for at least three of these available options but as I had only one choice so my vote goes to the option no.4 an easy way to send money for less but this is not all what it really means to me.There is a set of combination which can explain better my answer.

Bitcoin means to me is a way to get rid of the traditional banking system while I use it to to put aside extra money. As someone stated above Bitcoin means to be everything what is added to chose from poll section. This also means to me get rich hope as this is very cheap right now and price will raise in near future.

At first I think we can get rich through bitcoin but later I love it! Because I can transfer it without cost and easily do the international business. So I can get rid of traditional banking!

well is hard to decide only one, so i will use a rank xD, from y point of view i will choose:

1-An easier way to send money for less
2-A way to leave the traditional banking system
3-A way to save your extra money

the number 3 is just for now, because i expect that the number 3 will be converted in number 2 soon A "get rich quick hope/prayer" :P

I was attracted to Bitcoin, as I was against the exploitation of hardworking people by the banking cartels. When I first collected my Bitcoins in 2012, I never thought that I'll be receiving any profits from it. But in the end, Bitcoins gave me decent returns, as the exchange rate went up from $10 in 2012 to $1,200 in 2013.  ;D

All of the above with the exception of A get rich quick hope/prayer I can't see anybody getting rich quick with Bitcoin right now unless the price sky rockets back up towards the $1k mark.

Another choice you could add to the list would be addiction Bitcoin is an addiction, the amount of time I have spent online regarding Bitcoin and altcoins is crazy, not sure it is the same for anybody else but it would be interesting to see how many people would choose addiction from a list.

#3, but with the idea that it should also increase in value over time, as with gold etc. Not get rich quick, but normal reasonable price appreciation.

Bitcoin to me promises a future that I probably won't be able to achieve in the normal working world.
It's an investment opportunity like no other than 'could' give me returns that I probably can't achieve anywhere else as an 'average joe' with a mediocre salary.
It's a store of value, a currency that could rocket in price, I guess I'm just here HODLING, hoping for a future that maybe only bitcoin can give me (bar eventual inheritence :D).

Most importantly it means social change.

Look... even if you have no bitcoin its a great thing to support.  If we can take out the banks/gov control on money everything will change. Even if you are poor the world will offer greater opportunity and if you are too old or unhealthy to work i would imagine charity will also be greatly improved.

well for me i choose "A get rich quick hope/prayer"

Bitcoin means many of the reasons in the poll plus more. When I first heard about bitcoin I was fascinated by it being a decentralized currency and that you could buy drugs with it haha. The more I read about it the more I loved it. I like that it's cheap to use and send, a way to get away from traditional banks and monetary systems, but I also like the fact that's there's potential for profit in it too.

to be honest, for me, the most usage that i have got out of bitcoin is another way of earning money. from the first time i have been introduced to bitcoin i started earning it. i started tiny, from faucets to signature campaigns. now i am into trading and i am earning bigger.

..A way to save your extra money
meh, not that much.

..A get rich quick hope/prayer
nah, i mean i have been earning bitcoin by trading and all but never thought of getting rich quick by it!

..A way to leave the traditional banking system
yeah, a little

..An easier way to send money for less
yeah, sure

..What the fuck is a bitcoins?
what the f am i doing here if i don't know what bitcoin is ?!!

I think there should be multiple choices for this particular poll as you always want an extra money for savings and for future prospects and everyone wants to get rich in quick time so I believe holding bitcoins for a longer period of time can make it possible as you never know what will be value of bitcoin in future. ;D

I believe it too. It can make us to get rid of the traditional banking system and that would be the best thing in the future you don't need to carry cash or credit card to make a payment you just need to give your bitcoin address which cannot be hacked by the scammers and it is the future for sure.

This is the primary reason I want bitcoin to hit the mainstream, I recently bought a watch with a hefty value. I made the mistake of buying it with my savings account. The. Fees. I. Was. Charged.... :o It was a lot. Bitcoin stops large fees like this occurring, this is why we need it.

I think the option 3 is the best choice in the poll, because the option 1 and 4 are some of features from option 3. The option 2 just working if you have many bitcoin for investment or if you are brave enough to do gambling.

To me holding bitcoins is a fun and I am loving it. I can buy any product online by using bitcoin and I don't have disclose my bank details or credit card details that is the best part of having bitcoins in your wallet and I am not  sure about the future as I believe in present and If the prices goes high at a moment I won't hesitate in selling it out at a higher price.

Also bitcoin is(for me) a get rich quick hope/prayer as I use them in many of my investments and trading, etc.

Yes and if you have excess fund then don't go for any other product like gold, land or shares just invest in bitcoins as the nature of bitcoins is volatile you never know withing few months it can get to doubled prices which can prove to be profitable and get maximum returns within a short period of time.

Same Here. I really hate going to bank and wait in a queue for making the payment or paying the credit card bills or even making deposits. Bitcoin has changed my world as I can do anything with just a click and it doesnt take that time to reflect the balances as the banking system take time so I generally use it to get rid of traditional banking system.

Yup, you're right. That was the past. Now, bitcoin price is stuck at $220-$240. But if we use bitcoin for investment, it's still better than bank's interest. Just wait for a big news so bitcoin price will change, but it's hard right now.

it is a good investment but not the best at the moment.

For me, it's basically about independence and freedom. It is a way to ensure every person can have something like a bank account - without the banks themselves ;) The only problems is the technical knowledge required to use Bitcoin safely, and obviously the notorious instability of the price. I hope there will be solutions for these two issues.

And it's a means of international communication and a big statement against nationalism.

I love the idea of having a escape from the "official" fiat world. A way to store wealth in a decentralized manner, that is not inside a bank, and is not physical metals, that can be sent all over the world instantly. Just brilliant.

I do not trust any of the traditional online payment systems. It centralized and it's a target for hackers.

If I use Bitcoin in the correct manner, my security with online shopping is higher than any of these payment methods.

Banks have also raped my income, by charging me huge fees, for trivial transactions. This is enough reason for me to use Bitcoin.

Once rich - gonna reply here to this post of course 8)

Voted for option four. However, I dont really use bitcoin for option four. Option four is the closest option to what I use Bitcoin for. I use Bitcoin because I dont have paypal or whatever credit. As a freelancer (in the past), I would like to accept virtual currency which have a real value instead of fake value (ForumPromotion for example). Also, I would like to purchase things online for myself so I use Bitcoin.

Well, investment and making money sort of stuff is not my main agenda although at some point it is connected but that does not really matter. The closest would be to have the freedom of my spending power not being controlled and determined by the banks, so my vote goes to option #3. I hope the rest sees the real potential, threats and even weaknesses that exist in the current financial system.

Bitcoin means more to me than there are options available in this poll. But most of all Bitcoin means freedom.

Freedom comes from leaving the Keynes-Ponzi-scam that constitutes our current monetary system. Freedom also comes from taking control over your funds without having to trust middlemen like banks. And freedom comes from sending money worldwide without obstacles or excessive fees.

ya.ya.yo!

Yes bitcoin has made online transfer very easy and very cheap and it is also time saving. And the transfer is made within the fractions of minutes and it allows us to get rid of the traditional banking system which charges higher for transfer and it also consumes lot of time.

Chose option 4th although I do agree with the 3rd one too that it gives people freedom to keep their own money and not rely on banks but I think Bitcoin has revolutionize sending money from one place to another over long distances for very less fee and without the need of a centralized authority.

All the other methods of sending money from one country to another is full of hassles and costs a ton of money and doing that with bitcoins takes very less effort and almost nothing compared to the traditional money transferring systems.

WTF, 6 peoples vote for "What the fuck is a bitcoins?"

Those are most probably trolls, actually if you're making a Poll on Bitcointalk forum about bitcoins that option should not be there in the first place.

Paypal is History Brother. Use Bitcoins. I generally hate visiting banks and that is the reason I simply love bitcoins as it saves my time money and energy as I can transfer fund with just a mouse click.

Yeah well I'd love to use Bitcoin and I'am ...
But take for example now , I need to buy a host from Bluehost and they are only accepting Credit Card (I was pulling money from Paypal to CC) and they accept also Paypal . and Now I'am suffering to find someone to trade my BTC for Payoneer (the credit card I have) so it's kind ahard to be honest  :-\

I Agree that is hard at a moment as some of the websites only uses credit card and paypal services for accepting the payment But it is just a matter of few time and sooner we will be having all websites that accepts bitcoin as a mode of payment :D

i use bitcoin as a way to earn more money either from my signature campaign or by trading bitcoin i try to make more and multiply my stash.
and since this option is in the poll i have to say that i have never considered bitcoin as a get rich quick thing.
it is a good investment but not the best at the moment.

I Agree, It is a good investment option but not the best one as it is facing problems from the government and media who are involved in creating the negative image in minds of people but if I have to choose one option then I would prefer trading and earn some profit out of it.

Don't be so confident about bitcoin dude. You never know what future is gonna give you in return. It is better to stay to basics and keep going with a flow rather than expecting too much from bitcoin.

Getting Rid of Traditional Banking System is something everyone is looking for nowadays but bitcoin has many advantages as it is good for online shopping and online money transfers too, multiple advantages makes it more attractive.

Bitcoin is a revolution against the corrupt money printers and banking cartels. It's the first fair currency in my opinion.

WTF, 6 peoples vote for "What the fuck is a bitcoins?"
Then, how the f*ck you can read this thread and vote for the poll? :D

Well then why is it even an option in the first place since it's obviously stupid. People obviously weren't being serious when they clicked it.

If you hold it in a better way you don't need to have any other investments in the future as bitcoin will take care of everything but we just need to hope that more and more people starts adoption bitcoins.

I could choose 1, 3 and 4... But 3 seems the most appropriate answer. It's the dream we all have, long term, to leave banks behind and be the owners of our own money.

Give back to people what's theirs :)

Ya but the multinational banks will never get bankrupt and your money is safe in the bank thats what I believe. But yes you can get rid of standing in a queue to make the deposits you can get rid of the paper work that the banking system involves so I would generally prefer using bitcoin to get rid of traditional banking system for sure.

At the first glance I know bitcoin as an ordinary currency that will just blowing like wind.
I can't imagine that bitcoin ever reach $ 1000. I'm surely regret for not owning bitcoin. But as we know there are some people that really buy bitcoin with a huge amount on the day when bitcoin was early develop. And yes as we can expect that those people become rich for instant.
So for now, I'm earning bitcoin and I will try to hold it so "$1000 / btc " will happen again on the future. ( hope just getting higher )

I think banks will exist forever. Even if the world went 100% Bitcoin which is the ideal scenario of course.. there would still be a big market of banks for the people that don't have the nerve to store their own wealth and want someone else to do the job. Even if personally I think it defeats one of the main purposes of Bitcoin, it's a legitimate option.

An alternative to paypal in the way of not getting charged back! Otherwise, a good currency that can be made all over the internet and in some cases, tax free!

it is a great way to play, specially if you are into gambling , you can find a lot of options and a lot of different gambling websites to go there and gamble away some bitcoin for fun.
but i don't see bitcoin as a wasting my time,

Actually I look at bitcoin as not gambling. It's a bit risky but it's my way of earning extra for my family and for our needs. I've earned a lot from it and it saved my family many times from loaning especially when my baby was admitted in the hospital. It helps a lot. It's also fun to play with bitcoin.

well if you can earn big money in the end, i won't call it a waste of time, it is a matter of perspective and luck, like in everything

i don't like to call something that i'm doing, waste of time, otherwise i would not do it ever...it is like wasting your time on purpose, a bit stupid...
