Title: Bitcoin giveaway -- 0.005BTC to all users of Bitmessage
Post by: Bitmessager on June 11, 2015, 08:38:16 PM
Blockchain technology is the lastest big thing in IT.

Just like Bitcoin is using this technology, Bitmessage is using the Blockchain technology as well.

  • Download the software here: www.bitmessage.org
  • More Info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitmessage

To receive 0.005BTC, send me your Bitcoin address to my Bitmessage address BM-2cW67GEKkHGonXKZLCzouLLxnLym3azS8r and I will send 0.005BTC to you, it's that simple.

Also, please use Bitmessage, tell all your friends about it, it is the next level of Email.

UPDATE: This guy tried to scam someone (spammed bitmessage users to sell stolen bitstamp coins (claimed he has them));
This's not a legit give away.
check this: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2re2pw/18864_coins_stolen_from_stamp_that_doesnt_look/cnfhalh

Probably: This guy is trying to collect a bitcoin related bitmessage user list. (Like farming e-mail addresses with fake give aways etc).

Even if this guy is a scammer; That doesn't change bitmessage's integrity. Remember fake giveaways on bitcointalk to collect e-mail addresses. This is just like it. (When some shithead got your e-mail address do you stop using your mail account? Think like that).

Are you guyz serious? You're in bitcoin really long time and you don't know Bitmessage & it's awesomeness?
(Decentralized mail, privacy, etc).
Given link is clean; also here's the github link of project; https://github.com/Bitmessage/PyBitmessage

edit: BTW My message arrived to OP. Waiting for payment to confirm if it's legit giveaway.

Wouldn't this person need to link bitcointalk names with the bitmessage sender? Otherwise couldn't a single user make unlimited requests?

Yeap. You're right. Anyone can create unlimited id's on Bitmessage & request unlimited.

I think OP should ask for sender's bitmessage address publicly or privately on bitcointalk. (It's not gonna completely block multiple requests, because there're lots of multi accounts...)

I would think that with the OP being the developer that it may show him the IP address from which each request is sent. I'm not sure though, pure speculation.

dont use this service apparently its just a troll looking to have fun. heres my reply from him

You should just use the service anyway if you think it's interesting without needing to be paid, stop trying to scab money, you and like 120+ other people have been conned, there is no BTC, the address listed on reddit and other forums is a public chan address, you were used to troll other users on here and also yourself because people like you are greedy fuck bags who would do anything for less then what, $0.50? Now tons of bitcoin addresses have been posted to the general chan (which does get child porn sent to it by trolls) and law enforcement also watches this chan as well for that reason, if you've ever used that bitcoin address anywhere else law enforcement can now tie your identity to being involved with a source of child porn, any other user who watches the general chan and now decides to give you some real life greif now can do that, all because you wanted that pitiful amount of BTC so badly, what the fuck is wrong with you people?

If you were just using BM and joining the general chan because you are actually interested in the technology you wouldn't have been fucked over like you possibly have been, I hope the false promise of BTC was worth it asshole, because you've just been trolled...

Bitmessage is legitimate and safe software, but the OP here is just a troll, and the bitmessage address he gave is not his, but that of [chan] general, and he is encouraging users to spam the channel with their Bitcoin addresses.
No one who posts their Bitcoin address to [chan] general will be sent any Bitcoins. Be told!

ALERT

Bitmessage is nothing like a wallet or a scam software, its similar to an email program, only anonymous and encrypted. Every user downloads all messages but only the real owner of the address can encrypt it.

Im not sure what this thing should show but its obviously some people have too much time. Though maybe i should be gentle and believe he wanted to warn other users.

I did not understood how this could make one connected to child porn. No one other than the owner of the address can read the message. And police wont follow users that clearly were there for something different.

Maybe i did not get a point in that.
