Title: (Assuming you shave your facial hair) Do you use aftershave? Post by: niko on September 11, 2012, 10:59:05 PM I quit using aftershave years ago after I realized it is a totally useless and unnecessary gimmick.

Cost ~0.2 BTC for a 1L bottle, lasts nearly a year, doesnt stink and disinfects all your cuts ;) My mates all say Im a cheap bastard, but hey - it works great and doesnt stink. Post by: vampire on September 12, 2012, 04:37:20 PM I use aftershave, but also use double edged blades :-) After shave aren't expensive vs modern blades that go for $2 each.
Title: Re: (Assuming you shave your facial hair) Do you use aftershave? Post by: trifith on September 12, 2012, 04:46:09 PM I use aftershave. The brand is Clubman, and it's like $5 (US) for a bottle. I'm about 6 months into one and haven't even used 1/4 of it.
I also use a straight razor, so it's a little more important. And much cheaper than good disposable blades. Between shave soap, new blades, (It's a cheap modern handle that takes them) and aftershave, I figure I spend about $10/year on shaveing and related supplies, not counting water usage, as that's included in my rent. Cost to get started (Handle, brush, mug) was less than $20. Title: Re: (Assuming you shave your facial hair) Do you use aftershave? Title: Re: (Assuming you shave your facial hair) Do you use aftershave? Post by: evolve on September 12, 2012, 05:10:12 PM I've never used aftershave...then again I always have had a babyface, and didn't really need to start shaving regularly until my mid 20s. Now I just use a trimmer and leave my facial hair at stubble length...
Title: Re: (Assuming you shave your facial hair) Do you use aftershave? Post by: niko on September 12, 2012, 05:13:34 PM I was curious if people who used any form of disinfectant (from fancy lotions to rubbing alcohol) tried omitting this completely? I can see how it might be needed with old-school brushes full of bacteria, but nowadays I think it is unnecessary. I've never had an infected cut. I use a foam or gel and reusable double razors that I rinse and air dry when I'm done.

So far my tests have showed that 100% of the cuts i have plugged with TP do not become infected, so we could infer that toilet paper is a disinfectant! Haven't used it since my Dad taught me how to shave. I was a very poor and bloody student. :'(

Title: Re: (Assuming you shave your facial hair) Do you use aftershave? Post by: jwzguy on September 12, 2012, 07:54:25 PM I use a straight razor (Rolls) and all I use is witch-hazel. I've been using the same bottle for over a year now, it's inexpensive and effective.
