Post by: ChrisPop on June 13, 2015, 08:08:17 PM
Travis Patron is a digital money researcher and author of The Bitcoin Revolution: An Internet of Money. Here he explains why the late American mathematician John Nash may have influenced the creation of bitcoin.

I think this has been discussed on the forum previously... I still have the same opinion, John Nash definitely layed the foundation upon which Satoshi inspired himself to make Bitcoin... And then Satoshi had the mind, the will power and the skills to join coding, mathematics and finance together to create Bitcoin!

"Although he was very likely never behind the guise of Satoshi Nakamoto, his work lives on in the monetary policies built into the bitcoin protocol."

end.

Nash developed the economic definitions of money. His monetary theory is not the beauty of bitcoin, it's the blockchain, hashes, block reward and miners. I think the writer is looking for similarities between bitcoin's operations and Nash's theory, but missed all the innovations Satoshi implemented.

The Byzantine generals problem that Satoshi solves with his Proof-of-Work approach is part of Game Theory, the field of expertise of John Nash, so that makes perfect sense. I am sure Satoshi was familiar with John Nash's work.

I have never seen any good evidence that Nash personally helped to invent bitcoin.  However the whole thing is shrouded in so much mystery, conspiracy, and falsehoods that it is really hard to know what to believe at this point.  I am just going to go with my initial theory that Satoshi is a space alien and leave it at that.

This man is a genius in the fields of mathematics, economics and cryptography But Nash's "ideal money" is a bit different

Another thread dedicated to the futile quest to find satoshi's true identity, and again i ask; with what reason?
Satoshi obviously wants his privacy and anonymity to be respected, so why can't we all agree to do just that; and focus on bitcoin itself, instead on it's creator.

Their contribution indeed made a lot of difference and without them, we would never realize that there is another alternative to another form of money system which is possible. I can imagine people like Newton, Franklin being credited for their theories that eventually changed our lives, so maybe we should also thought about giving them the credit where is due.

Whoever invented Bitcoin was a mathematical prodigy.

^^^That.

We find a lot of connections to a lot of people (e.g. Nick Szabo).
But my guess is that none of them is Satoshi.
They did however all play a major role in the conception of Bitcoin and the block chain by Satoshi.

This is accurate. After all, ALL theories have foundations on previous teories, which end up being put into practice when all the variables click in, that's the mind to put into practice and the technological level being advanced enough to make it a reality. Bitcoin is possible only thanks to the very advancements in technology. Years ago no one would have been able to even have hard disks to store the blockchain.

i dont know, but if John Nash did it i would to gratefull for him, bitcoin is awesome, mathematics and technology is the basic of the bitcoin,as a noob like me i just craved for the glory of the bitcoin
