Title: Help needed
Post by: wildswazi on September 12, 2012, 12:17:00 PM
Hi all just setting up my bitcoin account takes its time here in South Africa but anyway. I was wondering if you guys can help with donations to my bitcoin account so i can get a new pc. This pc will help me get the proper amount of parts and a nice case im saying nothing fancy.
Getting a new machine will help me with community service and then i can teach our uneducated nation to understand the fundamentals of a PC. I am currently using an old lga 775 computer and i was hoping with a new machine i can teach the kids how to make a pc and learn a process in helping other kids with building computers. As im hugely involved in the community and beginning the process of making a new education system in the computer field for primary schools and high schools in South Africa. Im still waiting to get my bitcoin account.

Ideas and thoughts are welcome.

First off it will be hard to help lil kiddies when you lack the prober equipment to help yourself! Just sayin..

Well its not little kiddies its 15 year old's and upward who live in the rural areas and barely know what a pc is let alone touch one or assembly one. Their are very eager to learn and iv been bringing old pcs for them to learn on but its old stuff and i require new equipment to help them.

My pc is an LGA 775 it may be old but it works i can alot with it. I got kingston 4GB Ram, Core 2 quad Q8200 and Innovision Nvidia gt430 2Gb graphics. Its seriously outdated and thats why im asking for donations not just for me and a new machine but for the kids i work with in the rural area that need to know the basic of a pc.

Seems like that computer should be more than adequate to teach kids how to use computers.

But perhaps you will actually get some response if you post some proof. Pictures of where you work, the kids, and so on. Otherwise you just sound like another person begging for money.

Yes, VERY obvious reason.
Especially since that pdf is called Wihann de Graph Thank you

Good luck with your community service, seems transparent enough

Play nice newbies.

Wihann: I suggest providing a bit of work in exchange for donations. Perhaps a thank you note from a kid that the pc helps?

You just need a bit of organization and assurance before people will trust you.

No offense or anything; but, why am I reminded of "I am writing on behalf of Sir XYZ. He's dead and now he's looking for someone in the US to transfer his fortune to."  ???

Im not about ready to send BTC to anyone but you might want to check into buying some schools old computers :) I know people who do this and link them together for much better performance. Oc course you only do this after wiping the HDD and getting the PC set up they way you want...I know people who auction off the schools old PC's for maybe $50 and then money goes back to the schools for upgrading their system...its a win-win :D

Good luck with your cause :D

as another poster said, you should build a basic computer under $100.. not a multi 100 dollar computer to "to try to get rich"

You should see all the OLD PC's and parts the scrap yards get.

They pay .25 cents per pound of scrap electronics :P
