I'm new to the form site and will need some advice since I've stopped investing in crypto currency for almost 2 years already :o  and things have changed since i last heard about crypto-currency..

but i would like to get back on feet are there any good sites where i can hear the latest news on crypto currency in general and what coin is currently trending?

Hi welcome to the forums!   I think this is a great place to start if you have been out of the game.  There is a sub forum for news, and also a sub forum for pretty much everything.  This place is really active and to me seems like a central hub in the world of bitcoins.

without even following coindesk, for any good news, you can just haunt in the bitcoin discussion section, it's the best place to follow everything about bitcoin, and to get more confidence with others users, and their knowledge on bitcoin

The best sources you can do mentioned was coindesk.

But for immediate updated stuff thats going on, you can always check to see what people have to say on reddit. Usually theres information about recent news, or what most are concerned about.

I would say the best places here for news are Press and Bitcoin Discussion
For older news a coindesk article works most of the time but I tend to prefer podcasts like Letstalkbitcoin as they go into details and interesting topics.

For Crypto related news I usually rely on this forum and mostly I get all the news and discussion in Bitcoin discussions section but do check out the Press section for all the latest news. Apart from that Coindesk and Cointelegraph both provide great news on what's happening around in Crytpo world, and last but not the least on Twitter you can follow crypto enthusiasts and they'll keep you up-to date.

And I don't follow the altcoins too much but Bitcoin is always trending and since the price is low right now, I think you should start by investing in it a little.

the press section is nice, but the discussion sections are sometimes plagued with FUD, the altcoin sections even more so. however, the price of bitcoin has been steadily rising over the past few weeks, hopefully this trend continues.
