Just bought tickets for Jurassic World.

We should all go see a movie with bitcoin that is about bitcoin!  I'm serious though.  I want to see a feature film about Bitcoin with big name actors (think like the Facebook movie) and I want to pay to see it with bitcoin.  Actually, it would be cool if they made it something like half-off if you pay with bitcoin.  How cool would that be!?!!?

it would definitely make people interested. but in order to get big names to play in a bitcoin related movie you would need to have deep pockets.

i'm not into movie lately(they look all the same, same crappy acting every time), i would pay for watching a good anime instead, there is this option too? or it is just for movies?

Very interesting idea but I'm afraid we are very far from it.
A movie about the creation of Facebook was made when Facebook had already become a large and global company.
Bitcoin is still not on that level, not mainstream and I don't think that someone will be interested right now to invest in such movie.
We should focus on other, smaller and cheaper ways, of promoting Bitcoin right now and movie leave for later.

i hope this would last for long so that many people could watch movies using bitcoin :D

Very bad movie, isn't worth it.

I am going to go ahead and disagree. Saw it in imax 3d, it was worth it.

next time just buy beers, coffee, humble-bundle games or anything..just because the movie is really trash. I mean really TRASH.

Is anyone going to do a movie about the silk road? I'm sort of expecting it because it got so much publicity. Bitcoin would inevitably feature in it and possibly Mark Karpeles, although whoever produced it would need to find a really fat actor to play him.

I don't have $100 million to produce this movie.. I'd watch it if you made it though.

I am suprised no one has made something about silk road.  Or satoshi, you could make some cool movie about satoshi IMO.

It's always good news when more and more stuff can be bought with Bitcoins. Now all I need is a mainstream movie that's worth paying for. Will keep waiting.

Exactly!  And that's why a movie about bitcoin would be so epic.  Someone up above mentioned "deep pockets".  Dude, there are so many deep pockets in the bitcoin scene... it's ridiculous.  There are already some familiar names from the Facebook movie, "Winklevoss?!?!?"  yep...

But not just the Winklevai.  Factor in Mt Gox, Silk Road, Dread Pirate Roberts and his severe prison sentence, and Satoshi him/herself and you have an epic journey that's like a combination of Social Network, The Doors, and Forest Gump.  They could make it a trilogy and then you'd maybe sprinkle in some Star Wars or LoTR quality to it.  My only hope would be that they not focus too much on one character or another as the "star" of the show because they all play such important roles.

Seen the trailer and dont like the look of it, instead i will go and see the minions movie with the GF.  Yeah they are kinda stupid but funny.

Nathaniel Popper's "Digital Gold" would make a great Bitcoin movie!!

This is a really cool service, it should bring more people into Bitcoin from popular culture.

I saw it and it was entertaining, but compared to the original one is just yet another Hollywood blockbuster. It has yet again that sort of Michael Bay Transformers sort of vibe. It's kinda sad how modern CGI looks worse than the original Jurasic Park with the awesome real sized dinosaurs. Hell I think even the CGI from back in the day was somehow better.

Me has an action movie fan i think this rocks, the community can now leave the forum to watch a movie after a long day in the bitcoin world, pay with btc relax and enjoy the show!

Sadly I don't see any cinema in my country accepts Bitcoin for movie tickets.

this is a great news for bitcoin, sadly i am from us to buy movie tickets with bitcoin. i wish they start the same project here too, so i can buy tickets with my bitcoins.

This is great to see movie theaters accept Bitcoin. As said before, this will definitely help with adoption in the long run, and as for me personally, I would say I am more likely to see a movie if I can pay for it in Bitcoin too.

when a big merchant starts to accept bitcoin payments, it opens up a new market for bitcoin, BTC becomes a stronger currency because it becomes more relevant as a currency

Amazing. Bitcoin clearly is moving in big steps toward  adoption and therefore driving up the price in a more sustainable manner.

Lol I thought you were saying we should see a movie about bitcoin. That would be more awesome. If someone directed a movie all about bitcoin from the beginning about Satoshi, I'd be the first to see it. Wish that day would come soon.  ;)

im so sad about this. in my country isnt on list again. i have to wait for go with bitcoin. i think it tooks 100 years. and i didnt see that days. but when i go to vacationnext time i ll choose near bitcoin accepting places.

It seems like every day I'm seeing several companies starting to accept bitcoins. As the price rises, more BTC will be spent on the things people want or need and yeah that will only increase the snowball effect.

Its good news for most of us here that already jump in bitcoin world, this bitcoin payment already spread out over more things and another big companies will accept bitcoin...

If you want to "see a movie with bitcoin", you should go see Dope. It was "officially" the first film you could buy tickets for with bitcoin, and it actually features Bitcoin in a big way. It's very funny. A cross between Friday and Superbad, with bitcoin and dark markets thrown in.

Outside of US I couldn't find a single place to spend BTC for movie tickets, too bad because I would like to see some of the current films, im curious about the new Terminator one even if it might suck.

Ok not to sound like a total moron (but yeah I am) but did MovieTickets stop taking Bitcoin for movies? Or is it only specific movies? I can't find how or where they accept it, at least not on the app.
