How are you funding the "Paid to post forum"? {Ad's?}

I am a moderator at a similar forum and it's not easy to balance a "Paid to Post forum" with a good experience for the users. The trouble starts with people spamming for the sake of gaining income and not posting constructive content.

In the end, you are left with a forum full of spam. {The moderators in this scenario should have balls of steel.. people get freaky, when it comes to money}

I can tell you from experience, it's not a easy ride. Your site will also come under attack, when it gets too popular, so beef up your security from the start. {We have been hacked a few times already}

I am managing it with ads + Various form of advertising which only a active forum community can support.
Plus we would be giving away paid to post not too high, but better than all faucet systems out there.
It would not be worth spamming the forum but it would be worth enjoying being there :)
Later when we have enough activity we would increase the rewards to much high but restrict them to quality posts.

Do you more or less have an idea of the value of one point and of the minimum to reach to be paid? Payments will be instant or not? And at end of every week/month you will do some contest (ex. for the number of post in forum)? This could be some ideas to improve this method  8)

Nice one ! Your forum automatically adapts from what the users is using to access your site. Im on mobile mode now. This is what I like in a forum , does have a mobile version.

Yeah! Even google seo now takes in consideration mobile usability of site. So its a necessity now a days.

I love RPG games, sometimes playing it when I`m bored.

I have an ancient wish, that i always wanted , and missed in RPG games.
I dont care about the graphics that much usually, but what I care is that make it so that we can trade ingame, so that we can create a virtual economy inside the game.

For example: We go on a quest with a warrior, we hunt animals and monsters, then we get items, which we can sell for other players, in return for BITCOIN.

Thus we can create an inside economy, a virtual one, in the game itself.

It might boost the GDP of Bitcoin, and attract the gaming community too.



Can you pull this off OP?

We are actually in talks with a developer for nearly such a thing. Would not be too graphical but enjoyable. You would be finding weapons and potions in the way which you can either use yourself or sell in market. Pm me about this.

Yes that's cool, you can use the flash engine to make it flash based, that is usually low memory but the graphics are decent for a rpg game.

I was thinking about making a market/auction house, whatever you call it, where you can trade items earned inside the game.

You could also add a crafting feature, where you can create additional items like potions, cooking food and other RPG classical elements.

It would need alot of work , i can imagine, if if you can pull this off, then you would be in monopoly and you could earn alot of money.


1 Very important request/suggestion please:  Don't make it paid-to-play, and don't add owerpowered paid items into the game.
From my observations, almost all, but a few, online games have all gone bankrupt because of this fundamental mistake. People don't like paid-to-play games anymore, and certainly don't like overpowered items for paid customers.

So how would you make money?
Simple.
1) You could add extra items, which you would buy from the premium shop for bitcoin, but these would merely be accesories, like clothes and inventory enlargement, and other misc items that would people like to buy it because it would be "cool" but it would not discriminate against FREE PLAYERS
2) You could put a 0.2-0.3% comission on every item sold on the auction house, for bitcoin, just like exchanges put 0.2% comissions on traded instruments. After all these items would also be a sort of assets that can be traded.

So you could earn alot of money with these features, and also keep the game clean of abusers and overpowered players. This would make the game very enjoyable and alot of people would play it actively. The more they would use the auction house, which they will, the more money you will make :)

Also DEV, if you are very serious about it, then definitely start a crowdfund.

I`m sure a programmer costs much money and the resources (stock photos, animation, etc).

So i think a fundraiser would definitely fit it, it would be glad to donate to it, but only if you are serious.

I will join this forum soon because it have some unique sections however I will advise OP to get forum theme like earningpalace dot com, this can accommodate more advertisement and give you more money.

I like the paid-to-post concept and will promote these type of sites to everyone. {I like your anti-spam system}

We work on a shares system, where you work on a point system. The only difference being that all income to our site gets distributed to all the users on our site.

Your funding model looks solid, and your anti-spam system help to increase a good experience. Too many of these sites goes down, due to too much spam for payment going on.

We linked the "like" option on the forum to extra shares. {So if you post constructively, you get more likes and the more likes you get, the more shares you get} We moderate abusers of this system.

I also found no lag on your forum, which is a good thing.  ;D .... Hope your server is secured... We have been hacked 2 times, but things was restored quickly.  :(

I tried to play the games, but it says I do not have enough points to play it? Why do I need to have points to play the games? I posted a couple of times and I cannot see if I got points for doing this. How does this work?

You can earn some point by making a post or attack someone on Battle section.
Yes you need some point for play a game, most all every 10 points you need for play 1 game. Also don't forget to store your balance on the bank, you can read on the forum about the bank, because usually your balance will dry out easily if you level war is low, you can easily attacked by someone and lot your money.

This will chase newbies away from the site. You put a lot of effort into posting and then someone with a higher level attacks you, and you loose all your coins? That will not work. I also find the paid-to-post function to be too complex. You earn Bitpoints and then you buy carrots and then you sell the carrots to other players OR the Admin for Satoshi's? <Is this how it works?> People get instant payouts at faucets, why would they want to go through all that trouble, and end up with a situation where nobody wants to buy your carrots?   

Technically yes, that's why if you have some BitPoints store on the bank.

So how does the work go? Did you read my post DEV, i have some great suggestions there for you, which is probably the best business plan out there for video games by far.

No premium items but rather in game comissions, are a much more effective way to gain money, as gamers are already tired of paid to play games, or Paidware games...

I enjoy the games on the site and how it interact with the Bitpoints allocated to the users. I must say, it's very well done.
