The purpose of BitWasp Marketplace is to lower the barrier of entry into operating a site similar in nature to the famous Silkroad. BitWasp Marketplace is an open source project available at github. Hostfat has it right, there is nothing wrong with writing marketplace code! Its currently just two of.us working on the programming, things are coming along nicely!

Be careful and good luck! The OP labeled it that way, not the developer. I took a look on their site, they market it as being Tor friendly but they make it use AJAX which is a no go IMHO. We will have it degrade gracefully, so anyone with is disabled will still have their messages encrypted, but have to trust the server not to record the plain text somewhere. No Ajax though! Were accounting for people having it disabled.
Edit: The other developer just updated the template for things. It will eventually be running using bootstrap.js, like twitter. Again it's designed so that there's no problem to use the site with javascript disabled. And if server is run by untrustworthy people then JS is probably one of last things to be concerned.

Torbutton takes care of dangerous scripts. I don't trust the browser not to leak some info by things like doing DNS lookups so I wouldn't trust the browser for anything I actually need to have secure anyway; Torchat seems a better approach than a browser and if making the borwser actually be secure means installing a whole new/separate browser I might as well install Torchat instead, it seems simpler enough to give me more confidence that it is not full of as yet undiscovered holes caused by some stupid resource-hogging eyecandy or earcandy or mindcandy bell or whistle that adds more vulnerability for the sake of encouraging adoption by idiots... -MarkM- Title: Re: BitWasp Marketplace - to make sites similar to Silkroad Post by: Raoul Duke on September 17, 2012, 05:34:59 PM Make bitwasp work with Armory-daemon and you have a winner.
