Can anyone confirm the est. wait time on orders ?

Are you referring to the backlog for the BitForce (FPGA) devices or to the SC (ASIC) product line (which, at this point, is still vapor)?

The SC line which is supposed to be released Oct. ...sometime .

What I'm getting at is if I give them my money what can I expect for wait time .

Pre-ordered a jalapeno and was told late October, however I'm sure that will get pushed back into late November or even early December.

Is anything more understood about who they are having make the chips, and whether theyar the kinds that are just copies of FPGAs?

Yes, that's what I heard too. They responded fast to the message I sent to the customer service contact.

PS: This is now 6 posts.. when the heck can I post in other boards on here?

I dunno, I'll believe it when I see it :-)

I was told late October for 4 SC singles.  Considering what
happened with their FGPAs I also ordered 4 singles at 7-9 weeks
in the beginning of August.  I think the FPGAs will show up as
stated. We will be lucky to see an SC single before
December.  eh

I call bullshit, on the entire ASIC mining scene, no proof what so ever to date.

i have a feeling that when ever they do release "something" it will cause a shit storm on the forums. The numbers they're advertising at the moment are just plain impossible, sad to see theres still so many gullible people here on the forums even after all the scams/hacks/bs.

I'm sure they'll get something out still this year.

I'm not so sure, but if they do, GPUs won't be profitable anymore.

Im calling it now, the ASIC scams will total a value larger then the pirate heist.

Im calling it now, the ASIC scams will total a value larger then the pirate heist.

They have ~$1million in sales so far for the jalepeno alone, so it would be a huge scam. The difference is people paid with credit cards/paypal that leaves a paper trail (and can be charge-backed). The consensus, I've seen, is that they are real and will ship - just later than projected and possibly lower spec than quoted.

Want to bet on it?  I'll bet 50 BTC to your 50 BTC that BFL delivers an ASIC product.

That's too broad of a statement to bet against.

They might deliver "something" after a long wait and much rage, but it will be nowhere near the specs listed on the sales page. (which in itself will cause a shitstorm like no other on these forums)

It's a huge scam even if they are legit. Why? Because the first deliveries will be the only ones to ever turn a profit on their mining.

Alright then, what terms would you like to add to the bet?

Something like:

BFL will deliver an SC Single capable of producing at least 20GH/s, a Jalepeno capable of producing at least 1.75GH/s, and a mini-rig capable of producing at least 500GH/s.

Put a time component on that.  Say November 15th comes and not a single person has a BFL ASIC in their hands, that wouldn't be surprising.  But days, weeks or maybe several months later and they might deliver.

Here's a bet right now about 25:1 odds saying they do deliver, as stated, by mid-2013:

The deadline and event date...way too close.

Seeing that the landing page mentioned earlier in the thread was never posted to the public by BFL, I'm sure it's simple an experimental construction page with place holder images.
