Yes. Yes you should.  ;)
I just wish someone comes out and says that they are the winner. They don't have to, but it would be kind of cool to at least know who one of these winners are!

I also need some help translating my "Guide for playing BitLotto" sidebar - and details if you are feeling extra bored. If you write a language other than English a translation would be awesome! I'm hoping to get it translated into all languages on this forum. I don't just want a google translate though. Thanks. Once your translation is up at my site, I'll try to tip you for your work sometime in the future! I don't really have any money so the work would be voluntary for now but I'll try to remember the favor and return it one day!
I think it will help get more playing and that just means more money for the winner!

Thanks!

Anyone else check the hashes, winner manually? I'm curious if anyone here actually manually checks too?

Nope :(
But, because you asked... Yeah, it all checks out.

In the future, this would be easier if you linked the Block Explorer pages for the two blocks, like so:
Block 1: 127866 (http://blockexplorer.com/b/127866) Block 2: 127867 (http://blockexplorer.com/b/127867)

You know, I just noticed a minor flaw... What is considered the first block after 00:00:00 UTC? I ask because the miner can set the time in the block to whatever they want within a 70 minute period. As in, they can try to make the 00:00:00 UTC block (and the one after it) up to 70 minutes beforehand. Of course, your secret hash defends against this.

hey BitLotto,

As I've seen from previous visits, your site is already very professional, well done!
However it seems to be down at the moment.

If you get that fixed, I think you will have a lot more players in future.  ;)

Thanks for checking. Even though the time can be changed by the miner I use the first block that has a time after 00. So if it goes: 00:12, 23:44, 23:58, 00:08 the first one is used along with the one after.
Since I use two it prevents someone from making a block with an altered time to try gaming it. Since the blocks have to have a previous hash they would have to make one THEN make ANOTHER really quick THEN figure out if it works, then make ANOTHER to re-try. All before another miner makes a block somewhere. Each try would be like rolling a 16 side dice. And that's just for the first number. To win you would have to probably select the first two digits of the ending hash. At least. Pretty tough! The secret hash just makes it impossible for people crazy enough to try. It would be quite the feat of power even with the secret hash. It you could have that much power at your disposal, you would make *WAY* more just plain old mining!!

I think I'm not ready *YET* for Bi-monthly. It would make the jackpot smaller. As the value of BTC changes so will the ticket price. I'm trying to balance number of players versus payment price. If it's too low of price, the jackpot will be too small. If it's too high, not many will play. I try to make what I think will get the biggest winnings. I try to be somewhere about $2 USD per ticket. (Now, it's a little more but that's ok)

The rapid change of price in BTC is mostly why I don't take advance tickets too far in the future. It would get pretty hard as I'd most likely have to change the price anyways. If I did have to, I just refund the difference.

I think that's one of the coolest thing about winning BTC. It doesn't take long for what you won to be worth way more!!

Users, take note, I've updated the website with a more simple un-cheatable method of getting the winner! I decided to also use USA Mega Millions numbers as one of the random inputs. See bitlotto.com for details.

Great! That is pretty cool.
Maybe some suspect you to be the owner of USA Mega Millions ;). ;D

You should still use two blocks, otherwise there's no reason to use block data at all. Otherwise, this seems quite sound.

The only reason I use a block is I figured feeding more random data into the hash helps it be more random at the end.
I also wasn't sure if you calculated all the combinations of Mega Millions and tallied the first digit of the hashes perhaps one of the 16 letters appears a couple times more than the others as the first digit. Feeding a block hash into it, eliminates any letter from being more common as you are adding a block hash... I never did do the calculations but it does make the final hash better IMHO.

Looks like July will beat the June 1 record. It's reaching $600 USD and it's only the 9th! Maybe $2000 USD?
