You can try:

or

https://vertex.suprnova.cc

or simply point your rigs to

stratum+tcp://vtx.suprnova.cc:6632 and grab the coins later.

for new coin launch ? so my rig will point at it all the time.

I've been checking the code and it looks legit. Wallet is also virus free and the design feels like a work has been put in. Not like the other ninjas. The only flow I found is that on the ANN it says maturity is 110 blocks (which is actually high for 1 hour min. stake age since even though 1 hour can pass, the maturity wouldn't) but in the code it seems like it is 100.

Code:
int nCoinbaseMaturity = 100;

I am still trying to learn the coin codes so forgive me If I am wrong. :-*

Yeah but the code seems fine, 1 hour for min. stake age and 100 confirms.

oc, did you see any other parameter for staking?
Its kinda wierd to have mature coins according to code yet none staking.

I'll look if the PoS starts right away, that might be the problem.

Code:
        int nLimit = 2000;

Hmm, does this mean PoS starts after PoW?
But still, shouldn't it say "Still in PoW phase" or something like that, rather than saying "You have no mature coins".

xpooky showed me this:

Code:
int CMerkleTx::GetBlocksToMaturity() const
{
    if (!(IsCoinBase() || IsCoinStake()))
        return 0;
    return max(0, (nCoinbaseMaturity+10) - GetDepthInMainChain());
}

But still I have more than 2.5 hours old coins with more than 150 confirmations, still saying "no mature coins". Wierd.

There is a proof of stake diffuculty, does this mean someone already started staking?

Code:
"proof-of-stake" : 0.00024414

Edit: The good thing about crypto is you never stop learning. :P I guess after 1 hour it asks for 110 confirmations, than starts to stake. Lets see.

oc, did you see any other parameter for staking?
Its kinda wierd to have mature coins according to code yet none staking.

I'll look if the PoS starts right away, that might be the problem.

Code:
        int nLimit = 2000;

Hmm, does this mean PoS starts after PoW?
But still, shouldn't it say "Still in PoW phase" or something like that, rather than saying "You have no mature coins".

Hmm what i see by flying through the code is minStakeAge 1 hour... so when coins hit your wallet, after 1 hour they should be mature for staking

ahh ok its 160-170 confirms until it starts to stake then.

Did you start to stake after 160 confirms?
it should be 1 hour after the 110 confirmations

xpooky showed me this:

Code:
int CMerkleTx::GetBlocksToMaturity() const
{
    if (!(IsCoinBase() || IsCoinStake()))
        return 0;
    return max(0, (nCoinbaseMaturity+10) - GetDepthInMainChain());
}

But still I have more than 2.5 hours old coins with more than 150 confirmations, still saying "no mature coins". Wierd.

There is a proof of stake diffuculty, does this mean someone already started staking?

Code:
"proof-of-stake" : 0.00024414

No but based on the 100 confirm to mature and 1 hour min stake age with 60 sec block times it should work out to 160 confirms to start staking.

**Edit I have a block of 166 confirms and no mature coins**

unsigned int nTargetSpacing = 60; // Vertex - 60 seconds
static const int64_t nInterval = nTargetTimespan / nTargetSpacing;

yeah, mine turned green at around 170 confirms and after ~3 hours and then it took maybe another hour or so to actually get the first stake.

something is wrong with the seednode 104.207.144.68 and where the explorer is hosted. Explorer is stuck at block 980 and wallets are losing connections. maybe the hosting server is rejecting connections?

*EDIT* must be location, ISP or something. it was running fine on AWS but then it lost all connections. Tried it with my local wallet and it is working fine with 10 connections and all.

remove everything but your wallet and just leave the suprnova node..it will sync, It might seem to get stuck at block 1k but give time and it will go through it, same with block 1.5k .....don't know why.

Alive and Staking here, got the following peers at the moment:

82.44.30.10
189.208.153.155

Looks to be that some node (or the main seed?) is acting up, but otherwise any peers talking to supernova should be on the main chain (and staking). On and Off I'll get more peers, but these appear to be the ones that stick around the most.

Happy Staking!

These are on the wrong chain. When I synced with them they I am on block 1709. However right now suprnova is on block 1864. The fact is that there are many people forked and they do not even know it. Because there is a 150 network weight on my chain. :P

Please confirm you are on the right chain with suprnova.
And I just can't connect to addnode=vtx.suprnova.cc or any other node you provided oc.

Yep, sorry about that. ocminer posted his peers shortly after my post, and I switched to his peers. In the process, my very last 3 stakes got orphaned. I suppose that some large weight moved around at the same time as I did, causing some people to get forked.   :(

Using the nodes that ocminer posted, I am fully sync'ed with supernova, staking, and got a minimum of 5 peers now. I had to delete my blockchain to get sync to succeed, due to those few last stakes that orphaned.

Hmm.

But did you try deleting all data in the vertex roaming folder (except the wallet), and using the vertex.conf with all the nodes I pasted above? It worked right away for me, no trouble at all. Remember that by deleting all data in the roaming folder, you are also clearing your peers, so that might help.

Is there an argument like donotaddnode=94.22.184.4?  :P that node is the first thing the wallet connects to, no matter what's on the conf. and it won't go past 2010

Launch the daemon with

. /vertex -connect=88.88.88.88

And it will only connect there

Those still with trouble getting sync'ed, perhaps try this adding to ocminer's suggestion:

vertex.conf:
connect=148.251.41.117
connect=94.52.19.22
connect=74.77.15.47
connect=94.23.32.109
connect=71.239.145.217

In theory, this way, you connect exclusively with these peers. The downside of using connect over addnode, is that if these peers get saturated, your wallet will remain offline, since it is not attempting any other peers.

Good to see the dev is back around and troubleshooting this. I was thinking exactly the same as loco just earlier.  ;D

I only can get 1 connection with those and it is stuck at 2010.
I am also happy dev is here and we are communicating.

Not a big problem to solve and not many stakes have happened so far so its okey.

Edit: Suprnova is up to 2099th block. ;D

Thanks ocminer, that worked.

So I've tried on two different wallets, local and vps with nothing but -connect=94.22.184.4 in the conf. both get up to 2000 and stay there synced to 2k

**EDIT** one of them went up to 2010

I used Suprnova's IP from the first page (37.59.18.108) to sync to 1980 with NO other nodes added in the config and then it showed offline at block 1980. I closed it down and added the other nodes suggested:

connect=148.251.41.117
connect=94.52.19.22
connect=74.77.15.47
connect=94.23.32.109
connect=71.239.145.217

and it went to full sync at block 2140. Dont know if this is the main chain or not, what block height should we be on?

I've tried everything to get this to stake as well with no luck and since the dev has been totally silent this entire time im going to assume this is a wash and he has no plans on supporting his coin.  Seriously who releases a coin and then completely disappears right after?

Look three posts before yours...

Too little too late.  The dev should of been looking into the staking problem as soon as it was reported.  I've already dumped my coins.

OK.

I finally got to suprnova's chain.
Download new wallet and blockchain dev posted.

vertex.conf file should like this:

Code:
addnode=vtx.suprnova.cc
addnode=37.59.18.108
addnode=148.251.41.117
addnode=94.52.19.22
addnode=74.77.15.47
addnode=94.23.32.109
addnode=71.239.145.217

We are on block 2219.

Now on block 2232. I believe this is also YoBit's chain.

Not working for me  ??? it wont even begin to sync with that conf file.

would be nice to hear from the dev at this point with some definitive answers as to which chain we should be on and what block height etc  ;)

Anyone else with problems?

Hmm.. Than you are on the wrong chain or at least not on the chain that suprnova and yobit is.

Try deleting everything but wallet.dat, put in the downloaded blockchain.
Make your vertex.conf like this:

Code:
addnode=78.186.201.217

If It doesn't connect make it like this:

Code:

okay then. Your node and the Dev's update should do it, that's what I did.

1- Download both the updated wallet and the zipped chain.
2- Vertex.conf addnode=78.186.201.217
3- wait
4- stake

If your coins didn't show up or show less amount please go to debug > Console and type: repairwallet

Compare latest block with suprnova pool atm while im working on the block explorer.

If you have coins on your wallet, Please lock your wallet while syncing to prevent errors with staking and causing blockchain to become stuck.

Once assured all users have no issues with wallets, we will be releasing road-map!

I don't think POS is calculating rewards correctly, or else it is a hell of a coincidence that I just staked 2 blocks in a row which rewarded me EXACTLY 0.05474652 coins.  Are you the same guy that launched Tennet or whatever that trash was the other day?  This reminds me of that but slightly less shit.

Add the latest nodes dev gave and sync again. Because I had to close my wallet for a moment and the addnode I gave was mine.

I think I'll try this but delete the wallet.dat as well and not bother anymore.

It would be nice if the dev actually explained what he thinks is going on, and what fixes he's been posting. Going by github history, all I see is the updated seed, and adding checkpoints. Whatever has been causing forks, will continue to cause forks, since nothing really has been changed...

Starting to look that taking a risk on a small rental for this was a total loss... If you need a hand, reach out on IRC and get in touch with another dev? I can certainly recommend an awesome one (Presstab - best PoS dev that there is, in my book).

Also, if you can post any details about roadmap or future plans, at least we'll all have a clue if it is worth spending (wasting?) any more time on this.

Good luck!

Looks to be that there's still a crapload of people on the outdated wallet version...
Not much chance of moving forward if even coin holders are ignoring the needed update.  ???

@ocminer: Any chance that you can keep your node up, setup for plenty of connections while we try to get past this problem? Also I'm still not clear on what your node is, if generally available, is it just vtx.suprnova.cc? Thanks.

EDIT: I see, had to run the old wallet in order to sync with SuprNova. The pool node is also running the older client version. I'm now sync'ed, but have no clue what to do from here. Developer still around or what? A sign of life would be most welcome!  ::)

EDIT2: I'm staking small chunks of coins at a time using reservebalance, hopefully this get's the chain moving, but others need to do the same as I'll run out of inputs any minute now...

I'm done with this one - managed to get most to Yobit and sold before
it died a slow painful death. If the chain ever moves I have 13 coins
left that anyone is welcome to. Managed to only lose some electricity
and about $20. Consider myself lucky.

Good luck and see you on another coin. If it moves - 1st to send
me a wallet address gets my pile of 13 coins.

From Suprnova: Unable to connect to wallet RPC service: RPC call did not return 200: HTTP error: 0 - JSON Response:

maybe suprnova went off on its own fork - a bad fork?

Are you on the latest wallet code?

Ive not loaded the wallet since that dude claimed it had a virus and stole his coins...anyone else had the same problem last few days or was it a isolated incident?

I haven't had any problems about that and I've rescanned it multiple times with virustotal, on different days too, again a few hours ago. It says it is clean but still I'm running it on an ec2 instance. That instance has multiple coin wallets there and i have not had any of them stolen. The instance is constantly under attack to login from different multiple ips though but i think that's just someone targeting aws specifically cause i can't see the same security log on my local pc. I say it is clean but better be careful instead of sorry.

@ocminer: thanks, still trying to figure this one out. Please keep the node alive.

I have managed to sync to suprnova with the new wallet to block 3494, then i opened my wallet for staking and immediately went through my inputs, moved 4 blocks to 3498 until I run out of inputs so it is stuck there.

Here is my chain up to 3494 https://copy.com/n2MRW6QmCZEJIBDK

It appears there is the same problem as with every other low-count coin and staking issues cause of not enough inputs. If you can sync with the attached chain and stake, we might be able to get things moving.

**EDIT**

Here's the current chain to block 3498 if you can't move with the previous one https://copy.com/vunlLmtFJGgepcLt

HAHAHA!!!!  I was thinking the exact same thing.  It is a real shame that miners and pool ops have to try to spend all this time to fix a coin that should have been done properly in the first place.  This happens to much now!  Stop putting out coins when you don't know what you are doing!!!!

Even real devs screw up but it is rare and they fix it immediately because they are REAL devs.

Respect guys for trying to get another non dev-ed coin working.  Good luck my friends!!

I think this one is a virus, some of my old shitcoin wallets just got cleaned out on the instance where I installed this one. Nothing major lost but be careful folks.

I really, really hope and think you are just trolling but thanks for the warning. Please explain what happened.

all of the wallets on the instance were scrambled and when reloaded on another machine, the balances had been sent off to la-la land.

I can back that up. After the 1st wallet update. I got this from AV only after running wallet.

I will try to replicate it on a Virtual Machine when I have time and will post results. I always scan before extracting and it scanned clean until I ran it. If it is a false positive I would rather not use as all my other coins don't scan this way with sophos antivirus. This was the first "Update Immediately"  post from the OP.

@everyone
if you have coins in a wallet.dat but don't feel like staking them, I'm willing to buy your wallet.dat

Woody

You still have those? can you stake them? or I'll stake them for you if you want, would need your wallet.dat though..

yes, up to block 3,522 with 9 connections but it's stuck there, my inputs need another 82 blocks to become mature again................ long way to go.

You don't understand. I am also on 3522 but when I created the bootstrap.dat it was was on 3506. The bootstrap at 3506 is sufficient to help people get past the hiccup and then the wallet goes from 3506 to 3522 immediately on its own. I could make a new bootstrap.dat at 3522 but it is not necessary, or maybe I will make a new one.

Probably not because the wallet just groups them together in the next stake.

A staking coin with low money supply should not have 110 confirmations and coin management must assume that only 20-30% will stake at most. It is like specifying half a gallon gas tanks on cars in a race but placing the next gas station in 1000 miles. You will have cars out of gas all the way along the race and no-one will finish.

Vertex mac wallet : https://mega.co.nz/#!mV9kVaYT!WVoKK3V3l5EhxM7GEHYP99Zk9lJT_WqP386fFA1BmhQ (https://mega.co.nz/#!mV9kVaYT!WVoKK3V3l5EhxM7GEHYP99Zk9lJT_WqP386fFA1BmhQ)
Virustotal scan : https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/d504454bb9a6705458c698aa02e52a6bc5715c973c5fabe7fdae6b308a7a0cbb/analysis/1436286343/

Tip address: VRkhwtN4nCirtuCuwA2TQ4L2fh9t5hkf1q

Thanks for the wallet, hopefully we'll get more stakers with it. VTXs heartbeat is sloooooowly but steadily getting stronger, that particular dev is not needed nor welcomed back IMHO. He did leave us with something though; great name, logo and wallet design.

We got:
1 Great name
1 Great logo
1 very clean looking wallet
1 OSX wallet
1 Exchange
2 highly respectable pool owners supporting our efforts - Ocminer with his pool acting as a node and Scorpio with the OSX wallet.

Something good will come out of this.

PS. sent a small tip in 4 different inputs for better staking and moving of blocks.

VTX blockchain moving nicely, and staking is working great!

VTX is at a great price right now on yobit if you want to pickup more for staking.

Still staking away nicely here also  :)

feels like a very solid wallet(now that the blocks are moving well)

Unfortunately it's not doing much on the exchange at the moment, but hopefully that will pick up once people see that this could be a great coin.

only just over 10k of them atm as well.

No recent news in this thread, assuming the dev has abandoned ship already.

Is anyone still staking VTX?  The blockchain seems to be moving nicely.

Amazing how these things run so well without a captain.

I guess we have Satoshi to thank for that

So this post made me think https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1135151.msg12223301#msg12223301

Maybe we should get something started. I don't have the slightest idea about coding but maybe if I put in an effort, I might be able to find us a dev, or one of you could .... don't know but perhaps it's time to be proactive and take advantage of a perfectly working coin that we struggled to keep alive in the early days of the lazy blockchain. It's got great branding with multiple angles for finding it's niche some day. Also there seems to be at least 10 wallets staking ...

I'll see if I can get us a block explorer... we gotta start somewhere and we got nothing to lose.

I've been buying a small amount of this coin, wondering what will happen with it. If something comes together on this, it would certainly be great.

The domain is a great start. If a dev could be found, this coin could make a resurgence.

Still looking for a dev. Talked to one and he agreed to code some things for us but my trust on him slowly faded looking at his activity. I have another one in mind but haven't got to talking to him yet.

When I bought the domain i was day dreaming about it being some sort of exchange VERTEX and the wallet having the live feed from the site or the wallet honoring it's branding per the word vertex definition - vertex a hub for crypto modules or a collective (intersection) of tech from other open source projects etc........   just ideas like an architect with his ideas and him needing the engineer (coder) to take them to reality.
We might start somewhere, coming up with stupid stuff like above but I'd rather that than giving up once again once the scamming devs bail, too bad because he bailed as he saw the chain halt but didn't even make an effort to salvage it. The few of us got it moving and it's healthy but it surely needs a reason to be... we'll see..... hopefully sooner than later. Good thing yobit doesn't require min vol, else we'd be long gone  :D

Anyone interested in keeping this coin going? I've been thinking we need a takeover for a few weeks now and the other day proletariat hit me up with similar thoughts and some ideas like reducing the inflation.

There are a few of people keeping the network going which is good. I've been in contact with Yobit to keep their wallet online and there is still a coin request sitting with safecex https://safecex.com/coin/add

Initially we'd start a new thread, fork the code on github and start talking about code updates. Whatever myself or the community is unable to code we could outsource preferably to a someone who would accept VTX as payment. proletariat has mentioned he would be willing to donate funds for bounties, etc.

If there is any community still out there and you have some decent input please speak up and let us know your thoughts :)

Anyone interested in keeping this coin going? I've been thinking we need a takeover for a few weeks now and the other day proletariat hit me up with similar thoughts and some ideas like reducing the inflation.

this is the PM i sent to chey

Hello,
I see you posted on the vertex forum - wondering if you had any ideas for it.
I looked for someone to dev the coin back then but I lost interest sometime in between. I figured if we kept the chain going all this time (7 months) and struggled to keep it alive at the beginning it's not worth throwing in the towel. I might get back to looking for someone to help breathe some life into it but figured I'd ask you guys who have coins first. I mean we have a perfectly working coin, an explorer, a domain and an exchange...

Thoughts?

Bump...anyone else interested?

We could even start working on the code now and open a new ANN thread when we've got a more stable network, new wallets, website or whatever it is the community wants to do. I'm open to ideas.

The explorer is expiring in a few days guys.. The paid hosting period has expired for a long time now.. I just kept it online hoping for someone to step up and takeover...
proletariat paid for the hosting last time..

Since then my explorers have transformed enormously, which makes it cheaper for me to host explorers...

Renewels are 0.06 BTC for 6 months, and 0.1 BTC for 12 months...

If anyone is willing to renew the period, PM me, and I will update to my latest source...

Cheers,
Banzai

There is a network page on the explorer for nodes, and also a bootstrap file in the "about" tab which gets updated every 6 hours

Got an offer for anyone willing to host a node. I will send you coins to stake and will double your stakes at the end of each week. How? post here that you would be interested and pm me your VTX address.

These are the original wallets from OP I had in my archives. Make sure to scan them dissect them or whatever, I take no responsibility for any weird hidden stuff if any. I've used the win wallet for a year without a single issue.

no, dev bailed in the first few days remember? chain is nearly two years old and moving smoothly.

Although it might be passed due, finally a couple of guys and I pooled a few satoshis for some decent code work and are also figuring out what direction to take the coin. So there's an update coming with cleaned up code and a fork to reduce the insane inflation.

This is an overdue first step, so let's take it from here and see what happens. Fork will be on the 15th so that gives us plenty of time to update.

Why is it being hardforked? Coins like this I like with real low supply count.
