Out of interest what size are these and whats the best way to store them safely? Also are they likely to fade unless they're kept in the dark?

Each Papersafe Satoshi note comes in a windowed envelope ... depending on how you fold them either the serial number or the Public key is visible through the envelope.....

There is an old school picture and photograph store in my city. I could check if they carry something like this. I've searched on Amazon and eBay for something like this, but shipping costs are a deal breaker for my group buy.

Shipping would likely be around $25 to UK if sent Priority mail.  I personally think that's too much.  I sent something today to monkeynuts in the UK in a flat rate Intl envelope at that price

BG4, I think what makes this product truly unique is the use of NFC tag.
I was wondering, how do you write the information to the NFC tag, do you need a special device or do you just use a mobile phone?

Yes . I think NFC tags are going to make bitcoin even better.....When I discovered the Blackseal app I knew It was it.... The blackseal app runs on my Nexus 7...and I just tapped it to the Satoshi Note to program it..   There are a few editing apps for writing and editing your own tag information too... all android that I know of..

I am curious how you have implemented the NFC tag security feature.
So you have written a signed message to the NFC tag, with the NFC tag ID as part of the message.
What key are used to sign the message, the bitcoin private key?

I was reading a little about it this morning, If I have understood it correct, then is a chain of certificates used, so the author (which is you) have a certificate signed by a root certificate (owned by trustpilot).
Then is your certificate used (with your andriod app) to create the signed message.

I it is pretty obvious to me that the next generation of tags will be able to make a challenge-response message, which open a whole no array of possibilities.

Not really heavy at all...  They say, pictures add 20 pounds, must be true...

I think there is the URL address shortener too, that is  added in with the signed message ....  When The NFC tag, on the Satoshi Note is scanned, It lands to Papersafe.org   . So if you want to order more you can just tap the tag with a phone or tablet..  I can change that landing page to run promotions or give-aways or send discount codes to previous  customers...  At the present time...The only way to Authenticate the tag is with the blackseal app.  That is how new the tech is. But it is an open standard and will be part of future NFC apps .


The NXP ntag216 NFC tags also  have a password protected area  .  The hardware is there...Just not any apps yet to fully utilize the hardware.

Nice looking site, I see its powered by shopify.  How did you like setting it up through them?  We went through them I so far I am very pleased with how its all setup and managed.

As with any ...there was a small learning curve...But once I got the jist to what was needed and where...Its a piece of cake now .. I wanted to keep things simple...and a lot of the links on the store site link back to bitcointalk.....also a lot of information at my fingertips.... Paypal and  Coinbase handles the CC and bitcoin payments and Shippo which is used to print and pay for Shipping lables all work seamlessly together... I have to thank Mitchell for recommending shopify. It makes online Bitcoin sales a breeze when integrated with Coinbase.

This is an Aluminum card that was lasered with a Satoshi Note image.... I also laminated a blank card to see if it would work.. the one at the top... I also have a few ID Holos left... I could work something out I guess...

Have you tried laser etching a QR code in aluminum?

NO I have NOT.......It has to be reversed tho.....Its easy to do ..Just takes a few PITA steps  to set up... ..Create the QR, download ,convert it to Bit image for the laser , import, scan to see it it works .. Its something I would not want to do over and over again.....

"Hybrids" (e.g. opened Casascius w/ Lealana hologram, Ravenbit DIY with lasered Papersafe hologram) may become a mini-trend in the future, especially for hardcore collectors. I don't have any short term plans to make additional DIY coins because the market is definitely more interested in the "fully-assembled" versions of my coins, which is understandable from a collector's/speculator's standpoint. However, I could see a scenario where increased demand for hybrids increase demand for my DIY coins. In fact, given the success of my fully assembled Node Bronze coin, I'm surprised an established manufacturer hasn't tried to replicate this success in some way by "hybridizing" a bunch of my DIY coins.

This alone is reason enough to buy one. The pictures don't do justice to the quality and detail of your notes. I'm really happy with mine :)

Year end priced reduced bump..

I am finishing up with the design of my first 2016 Satoshi Notes. This will be the first of a series of different designs, denominations and colors. This is one of the designs I had envisioned several years ago. The first PaperSafe Satoshi Note looked more like US currency then this Satoshi Note design which looks more like a stock certificate.  I have made

One other thing that I have been working on is the price. I put every security feature I had worked on over that last year into the first series. This second series will be a lot cheaper to produce. I have cut back on the UV water marks and hot foil stamping. There will still be an NFC tag that is authenticated with Trustpoints Blackseal and the NFC tag is smaller and brought to the front of the note. Also ,the same Papersafe address tamper protection as the original Satoshi Note will still be with every PaperSafe bitcoin wallet.

These are IMO much improved from last year. A lot of extra details added, and they are cheaper. Can't beat it.

Those UV notes are pretty Rare, They don't come around to often. You got to scoop them up when you see them at auction.

     I have been working on PaperSafe Notes for more then 3 years now and Last year I release the first Note. The initial sales were pretty good ,Then tapered off. I didnt want to release a new Design until all of the first series were sold out. That didn't happen. The second series of notes" Blockchain mining" we release and sales were not as well as the first. But when I printed the second series, I only printed the first 40 (#100 to 139)... and wasn't going to produce more till the first 40 were sold out....the main reason is that when you add up all the parts to a PaperSafe Satoshi Note, (scratch off, Hologram, NFC tag, Paper, and Top loader plastic sleeve...) I was holding a lot of money in inventory... which would prevent me from continuing with newer designs.  I want to concentrate more on the design and the artwork of future series.  I don't really have the time to promote PaperSafe.org and the SatoshiNote.com Brand collectible paper wallets.

So I have decided to reduce the initial prints to the first 20 of the 100 prints of each design and UV embellish and sign the first 5. These will be auctioned off to Papersafe Note collectors or sold on the forum or PaperSafe.org at a premium.  ,,,,  However , I will  print the remaining 80 prints only in 4 Packs of 20 notes. These packs will be considered distributor  packs and you would have your name printed on Each of the 20 notes, in your pack as the Distributor, These packs will be priced for wholesale and can be sold and promoted at will... This is my way ,to get away from the advertising, promoting, shipping and handling of individual notes and can work on future designs and financially afford to do it.

This amazing creation was commissioned as a custom job by BG4, the man behind PaperSafe.

Some time ago I managed to pick up Satoshi Note #200, which is the first note of Series 3 of PaperSafes' Satoshi Notes.

This note was funded with the face value of 0.05 BTC on the day of release of Series 3. I was not aware that this note was already funded. More on that shortly.

After numerous discussions with BG4 on Slack regarding a custom piece over a couple of months, we agreed on a trade. What I was going to get in exchange for my trade, was not known to either myself, or BG4. The only thing agreed at the time was that BG4 would laser engrave a black marble block, "attach" it to Satoshi Note #200, and make a custom wooden box for it. Anything else was a bonus.

It was decided that I would fund the note with the face value of 0.05 BTC, and then BG4 would engrave the transaction details into some part of the marble block/or custom box. After I had funded the note, I checked it to find that it had already been funded with 0.05 BTC ??? After some discussion with BG4, it turned out that he had done this to this specific note only on the day Series 3 was released.

So, it was then decided between us that he would use the original transaction details for the custom piece, instead of my funding error.

So yes, this Satoshi Note has double funding of 0.05 BTC, and is now loaded with 0.1 BTC ;D

This whole piece weighs a whopping 5lb 14oz, which is roughly 2.7kg! :o It comprises of a solid Walnut box, Black Marble, Holographic Paper, Silver Paint, Laser Engraved BTC icons into Real Leather, and BG4's signature in Gold Paint covered by a Hologram on the bottom of the marble.

Well, the finished product arrived in the UK a couple of days ago, and I am utterly amazed at the quality and workmanship of this piece. The effort that went into this is staggering. I am happier than words could ever express.

To BG4: Thank You! You more than surpassed any expectations with this, I will cherish this item!

As I knew that BG4's boxes are very special and always one of a kind, I hoped so much to win it.

3 different items here. A custom BTCC Box, an XMR Paperweight made out of Black Marble, and a solid piece of (I think its Rosewood, BG4?) with the XMR Logo inserted in.
