Was wondering if any of you can advise on the most simple way to get BTC in the UK? MtGox I find very irrating, and the forms of documentation they ask for to get verified (as I wish to do a bank transfer) I don't trust providing online. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! The only other market exchange with service from UK banks is Mt. Gox. With Mt. Gox you can deposit cash at Barclays for credit to your Mt. Gox account. A 1.5% fee applies. You don't need to register anything other than an e-mail address with Mt. Open bitstamp Click SEPA deposit on bitstamp page to get payment/banking information Back to transferwise and input the details from bitstamp by pressing the "make a payment" Upload your funds to transferwise by debit card or bank transfer and when they get that payment, the will then send it on to bitstamp as a SEPA payment. 24-72 hours later your bitstamp account should be credited and ready to buy bitcoin Title: Re: Best Way To Get BitCoins In The UK (anything but MtGox!) Someone commented on http://howtogetbitcoinsuk.blogspot.co.uk/ (which incidentally seems mostly cut'n'pasted from WikiLeaksDude's blog) as follows: Quote I'd add Intersango.com to the list of exchanges - you can use Transferwise to get Euros into Intersango, you can then trade directly in Euro, without having to go thru US dollars. I wish the UK banks would wake up to the business opportunity and allow the exchanges to open a sterling bank account: there may be compliance issues, but the UK banks end up looking a bit like luddites. Not a good image to be seen to be trailing behind even euro-zone banks. So it looks like you're better off using Intersango than Bitstamp. M. |
