We choose someone on here like devthedev, or another trusted escrow.
I send my money to the escrow, and you send the cards to me. If after 24 hours, the cards are still working, and the escrow confirms this, the money will be sent to you.
This makes it safer for everyone.

Same hour?  Seriously?  Right now I have exactly 13 cards purchased from various sellers mostly from here and some from Cryptothrift and in the past eBay that are unused and still good 3-10 MONTHS after purchase.  Of the about 25 I have purchased (all for personal use) over the last year about 5 have died and some were simply scams (you can tell from the SENT TRUST :) .  I keep "aging" the good ones and buying new ones for use "now" and all of them are usually good until used up (usually 7-10days for $100).  First thing I usually do when i get a card is buy a box (or 2) of Starbucks Keurig K-Cups to recover what I have paid then drink the rest down.  To have to be fully used as soon as received kind of defeats the purpose unless you are buying stuff for resale but making large purchases at SBX for that purpose would make make me feel very uneasy and might create a problem for the buyer being flagged at a store.

I find that if the card you get has any previous activity on it (lots of previous use or lots of transfers) you're usually gonna get screwed sooner rather than later because it probably came directly off of someone elses account and as soon as they report it your finished.  I look at it as an average of wins vs. losses.  Of course YMMV.  Not sure how the ones that last "forever" are obtained vs the ones that do not.  Wish I knew the secret. :D

Update, fast deal with seller. He sent $100 card and I paid after I was able to successfully add card. So far so good.

3 (small) purchases so far today still good.  Gonna buy a bunch of Keurig tonight since they are 20% off.  :D    Maybe the SBX card checkers are off this weekend!  :D

My card did go bad ~18 hours after purchase, but the seller provided another working code immediately.

Are these cards legally obtained? And will they work in North America? I am interested I'm just not sure if they will work. And also if they don't work, how long is the warrantee ?

Cards work everywhere there is starbucks stores and the card service is used. It automatically converts to the balance that your account is in.
It works pretty well

?  I do not believe that you can exchange starbucks gift card balance back to cash/real money, with the exception of some states that allow you to claim a refund of $5 or $10 or less.

Free bump for seller.  FWIW the card I bought last Tuesday (6/30) is still good and has been used numerous (~15) times.  While 1 card doesn't make a good seller so far he's done OK for me.  Of course as always YMMV.  Maybe the SBX card checker dept has been closed for the long weekend.  :D

Quick update, card lasted until this morning when it was zeroed out.  Was able to use only about half of it but was a worthy gamble.

question on the Starbuck gift cards? since starbuck offer transfer of funds between cards, once you transfer can it still be voided?

yes, as many people can attest transferring funds and buying physical cards does nothing to prevent cards from being voided.
If you transfer funds from card a to card b, and card a gets closed, card b will ALSO be closed.

Question - i too have purchased from other sellers here and get zero'd out 50% of the time.  Maybe we can share our current setup just to eliminate any  possible issues that maybe "triggering" sbux to cancel. I can go first:

- iphone running latest sbux version app (maybe i shouldnt be updating?)
- egift codes tend to zero out faster vs email acct logins
- I add card via the app and not online
- i never transfer the new card balance to any existing sbux accts i have

any other tips? should i be turning off location services on my phone? LOL

It all means absolutely nothing.  It all depends on how and/or where the gift card or account originated (where the SELLER got them). The only thing I have found is if the card had no activity on it previously your odds may be slightly better.  If the card has a lot of previous activity chances are better you'll get shut down than if it didn't.  Ifthery are going to go bad they will whether you transfer them to another card or not. I certainly wouldn't get cards above $100.  I would assumed large amounts added to your account could easily trigger a flag.

Some sellers buy from other sellers who buy from other sellers who buy from a "source."  The more levels of "hand-me-downs" before it gets to you probably makes it worse.  That's probably why SOPHIA was so good because s/he must be the original source of the cards.  The only time I had a problem with Sophia was once when the card had a whole bunch of previous activity.

That is why s/he stopped selling for now. S/he said cards where getting shut down fast. 

All the above is purely conjecture and is based on only my personal experience with purchases of probably 35+ cards over the last year all for personal use.  I'll never sell anything to anyone. I still have a whole bunch of unused cards that are at least 1-8 months old that are still good.

I bought a card 2+ weeks ago (see my post #32 I believe)  and finished using it a few days ago so for me he was good.  Of course YMMV.  I am just relating MY personal experience.  These cards can die in 2 hours, days or 2 weeks or never. 

let me know how your deal goes, cause the escrow is a def must on these things.

I've been watching these Starbucks threads with interest for a bit now and I'm considering trying this out...

When is the risk of these going "bad"? Like when you are at the register conducting a transaction (and then you have to come up with some kind of alternate payment method), or you see it in your account beforehand?

Someone in these pages mentioned having more than one card on an account... when one card gets taken to $0, the rest don't get $0'ed out too?

They can be closed any time any place.  Usually if you "refresh" your card balance in the sbx app just before you purchase and it doesn't say "card closed" you'll be OK.  Only the "bad" card gets zeroed but if you transfer even a penny from the "bad" card to a "good" card they are now connected and they both usually go down so never transfer balances to a "good" card (I lost my "Gold" card with over $300 on it that way a year or so ago after I transferred a small balance from an eBay purchased card I paid 90% for to it and learned my lesson). I spent an hour on the phone with them and the best I could get from them was "only buy cards from Starbucks."

this guy still hasn't sent me anything. He said he would ship first but never did. Due to not following through on his word and extreme lack of communication I will not be buying any of these cards from him

well that's absurd bcause seller gave me 3 times within 24 hours and fast response .. i dont know what's going on between you two (not that I'd care)  but personally  i TRUST this seller  :)

LOL .... finally made contact and got 2 cards.  There are so many transactions on them though (some in US and some in CANADA) I don't think they will last long.  I better spend the $30 pretty quick to at least cover my cost.  If only SBX was opened 24hrs. :D

While i assume your goal is to just keep up your ad campaign posts my experience with this seller has been quite good.  First 2 cards lasted until used up (about 2+ weeks) and the 2 I got a few days ago are still good.  Of course YMMV and this is only my personal experience.  On the other hand I have bought some much higher priced cards from other sellers and some have crashed in days or even hours and despite their "warranty"  never got replaced.  So 90% of the time any "warranty" is worthless but I am sure you already know this.  :D

Just a word of warning. My card went bad after 48 hours, and i only used $20. Seller wouldnt replace because past 24 hour.

Card lasted about 48 hours. Luckily I was able to spend what I had spent for the card prior to it going bad... YMMV but for me it was 48 hours.

Thanks.  I was about to buy from this seller.  If you notice there are fewer and fewer Starbucks sellers popping out of he woodwork recently (there used to be like 3 every hour!) and the few that do offer a minimal "warranty."  It seems to me that Starbucks has pretty much closed all the previous loopholes and the remaining sellers are just getting e-gifts from active hacked accounts which get noticed and shut down very quickly when the actual owner finds out. That's too bad though because coffee is going to start getting VERY expensive for me if I have to start paying 90-100% for reloads off "real" websites.

I have got 4 cards from this seller so far the last ones a couple weeks ago which what is left on them are still good and all have lasted until used up but it looks like SBX cards are becoming a problem everywhere.  For $15 it's worth the risk to me but if they start getting shut down I will no longer buy.  I'm ready for another but am afraid to push my luck with only 24hr guarantee.
