This looks like the final, convincing sign that the downtrend is officially over. Expect a big crowd of speculators to back up the truck and buy buy buy.

Yeah i am convinced we are going up higher, i think we are in the stealth phaise quite clearly.  If you look around the only people who are getting excited are those in the know.  This bubble is going to be a huge bastard folks, $3000 target for me.

Maybe not $3000 but It seems that we did pass the $270 mark which means good things in my mind.  Just don't hope that this is an insane pump and dump by someone ;)

Yea today up almost 6% so far. I predict more than 275 by the day's close.
300 will be attainable by the end of the week if the trend continues.

Annnnnd it just crashed as quickly as it went up, back to $265.  It seems to be moving closer to $270 though, my hope is that today's close will be over $270.  Not expecting anything too big this week.

I don't know much about price and how things affect it, but I happen to have a lot of bitcoin on me right now so hopefully whatever happens will make the price rice higher!

Yes of course the pump is obviously related with the greek's referendum, because this is the unique possible answer... and we should remember that today is sunday. So it doesn't exist any other possible explanation to this little pump of few dollars.

The result will affect much more the bitcoin price...

A no will make the price move higher, and a yes will make the price move higher :)

wow A few minutes ago, more than $275. Shall see $300 not very far away.

The referendum is related to the price only in so much as it is bringing whales to the table, hoping for a spike. That combined with the effect of all the pro BTC news we're seeing, and the simple fact that when the price goes up people start buying like crazy. We'll see how sustainable this all is...

A weekly close above $270 is really exciting.... It wouldn't surprise me if we see $300 next week.

There is at least one legal way to get your euros out of Greece these days, to guard against the prospect that they might be devalued into drachmas: convert them into bitcoin. As Reuters reports, although absolute figures are hard to come by, Greek interest has surged in the online "cryptocurrency", as new customers depositing at least 50 euros with BTCGreece, the only Greece-based bitcoin exchange, open only to Greeks, rose by 400% between May and June.

As Reuters reports,

    Using bitcoin could allow Greeks to do one of the things that capital controls were put in place this week to prevent: transfer money out of their bank accounts and, if they wish, out of the country.

     

    "When people are trying to move money out of the country and the state is stopping that from taking place, bitcoin is the only way to move any value," said Adam Vaziri, a board member of the UK Digital Currency Association.

     

    "There aren't any other options unless you buy diamonds, and that's very difficult to move."

     

    But Marinos said the bitcoin buyers' main aim was to shield their money against the prospect that Greece might leave the euro zone and convert all the deposits in Greek banks into a greatly devalued national currency. If voters reject the demands of international creditors in a referendum on Sunday, this becomes much more likely.

     

    "A lot of people are keeping all the bitcoins they buy on our platform, until they understand what to do with them," Marinos said. "In their eyes, now they have bitcoins, they're safe."

the price has seen a decent price increase last days. the real challenge is the $300 level. will we manage to stay above it without falling back like the many previous times.

Nobody is pumping the price. Its only 10$.

i guess not because now seem like price will falling back to $230 again. but i hope that not will happen

a bit pessimistic, if we can keep this kind of rising, we could see a much higher price by the end of the month, 400-500 are not too far-fetched

When I woke up today and saw my Bitcoin checker app with Bitstamp APIs, I am shocked that Bitcoin price grew by $10 in a night. I hope this is not someone or a group pumping. I hope that it will stay around here (or even increase) for this month.

Same here. I hope that Bitcoin will reach $300 USD this month. Maybe Bitcoin will stay at the border for the rest of 2015. Let's hope for a better 2016; I'm counting down now.. :).

I know what is happening with financial crisis in greece but i didnt think that will affect so much the bitcoin price.

I personally do not know if Bitcoin is pumping or if it is just a natural price movement. I wonder if it will continue to rise though, because it is hard to tell if this is a bullish trend, or just a temporary rise.

but the price is going down again to $273 and how about $280? i hope it would be happen this week or maybe tomorrow...who knows

Im pretty sure I saw 280 for some seconds in coinbase a couple hours ago. We definitely have a long time (20 days) to reach 300.

Not today or tomorrow maybe next week, because i see now price down again to range $267-$272. So hold your coins and take a profit when price hit $300

I agree. I think we will have a small pull back now but it will be followed buy a runup at the end of the week and we may even see $300 by Friday.

Last month was a good month for bitcoin due to its price hike. Hope it continues and goes stable at $300 AND hopefully it goes $700-$1000 by the end of the year. Greece has something to do with this ofcourse.

I am not sure about $300 this Friday. It will hit $400 before the end of the year, then it could go down.
