What is scary is that client list as well as the platforms involved.

Clearly you are not safe no matter where you are and or what platform you are using.

And trust the USA to be on almost every list.

The tool was nothing more then a key logger programed to look for wallet.dat files on the targeted computer and transaction history. It was not made to attack the network.
lol video is relevant.

Color me not surprised... The whole Hacking Team debacle just underlines that these technologies exist and someone felt like building one. Hacking Team themselves have a very bad rep amidst privacy concerned folks (reporters, infosec) so I rather expected they'd have something like this hidden in one sleeve or the other.

The question becomes: who have they sold this technology to and what are those people trying to use it for?

What is more scary, was the prices they charged for that service. Only governments could afford that type of money.
The <Insert the 3 letter word> agency said, they are not targeting individuals with no thread tagged against them. They just collect ALL the data and run filters through them to identify targets and then they focus on those targets.
The data are only kept for 7 days. Do we trust them to keep with that promise? Are there any more agents stealing Bitcoins, and using these tools to do it, without even them knowing about it? Will we ever know?
