I also think that alts are back (and I was expecting it since months), but we are talking about the old ones. Nowadays it will be extremely difficult to impose new coins.

How about Peercoin, Namecoin, Novacoin and Primecoin? Look at their volume. There was obvious pump on all of them (including Litecoin of course), but personally I don't care, because the current price of Litecoin suits me well. I expected $5 levels around block reward halving, but it happened earlier.
