Title: Help Please!!!
Post by: Bunnyrabit on September 21, 2012, 07:50:59 PM
Hi , I really need your help.

I have tried using GuiMiner and Phoenix.exe through cmd

At first I got failed to apply BFI_INI patch to KERNAL. does your card support BFI_INI.

Then I decided to check.

My card does support it : - ATI 7950.

I checked GPU- Z, openCL supported. I then ran LUXmark 2.0 - scored 1900.

I can not get it to run.

d:\bitcoin\phoenix>phoenix.exe -u http://********:PASSWORD*******:1111/ -k phatk2 DEVICE=0 VECTORS BFI_INI AGGRESSION=4

gives:-

Wrong platform or more than one OpenCL platform found, use PLATFORM=ID to sell one of the following

  • AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing
  • [1] Intel<r> OpenCL

    ok, then :-

    PLATFORM=0

FATAL kernel error: failed to apply BFI_INT patch to kernel! Is BFI_INI supported on this hardware?

Same for PLATFORM=1 at end of cmd.

    What do I do....

    I'm going slowly insane.

    cmd path is correct.

    (start/D d:\bitcoin\phoenix).

haha yeah! Trust me you don't wan't to work in ict :) In the flags box add opencl  if that doesn't work Id still suspect a driver issue I would re install CCC see what happens if not try creating a new user account on your pc.

It gets a little stranger....  :o

I can get cgminer to work.

I get 314.2 Kh/s which seems pretty low for a 7950.

Here are my settings:

 -o http://api.bitcoin.cz:8332  -u ****.**** -p ****** --shaders 1792 --intensity 13 --worksize 256 -g 1

I don't think your gpu is device 1 :/

Title: Re: Help Please!!!
Post by: jamesmd on September 21, 2012, 10:10:38 PM
Im guessing your graphics card must be device=2 or even 3

one quick way to get the device number for your cards is to use guiminer - in the dropdown it will say the gpu type and device id although it will have 0-0 for example, use the first number only.

^Never thought of that, I know on a proper od you just type 'aticonfig --list-adapters'
 ;)

I'm not sure how to change it on cgminer....

I used a java script to write the .bat.

I've been using phoenix....

Sounds like there may be config that is forcing the BFI_INT (which the 7950 doesnt support i believe)

I'll give a Bitcoin reward of a day of mining to whoever can fix it!!!

And some to jamesmd for being so helpful...

once I get it up.

try the phoenix with BFI_INT=false

i believe with the kernel phatk it is on by default.  I think this is the way to turn it off (i actually dont use it so i cant verify myself)

Also, here is the thread for Phoenix 2 (which is the supported version).  THe first post has all the flags.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=75786 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=75786)

It does comment that the BFI_INT is only supported on 5xxx/6xxx cards

^ BFI_INT=false Does seem to work! Hope it works on your card, seems to have disabled it on mine

True. It doesn't work.

Title: Re: Help Please!!!
Post by: RoboCoder on September 21, 2012, 10:56:40 PM
are you still getting the BFI_INT error?

I'm going to bed. Thanks for the help though....

My head hurts.

Title: Re: Help Please!!!
Post by: jamesmd on September 21, 2012, 11:01:52 PM
not good! try this anyways   phatk2 DEVICE=0 VECTORS4 WORKSIZE=128 BFI_INT=FALSE AGGRESSION=4

Title: Re: Help Please!!!
Post by: RoboCoder on September 21, 2012, 11:03:56 PM
Also, verify there is not a phoenix.cfg file in the directory - if there is - it may be overriding and turning the BFI_INT on.

If you are passing config on the CLI then get rid of the .cfg file would be my reco.

kernel = phatk2
    start_undetected = True
