All my UFO disappear in scifi and cryptorush exchanges (44,000,000 UFO) and I do not want mining more.

Great for games though.

Alchemists could sell Potions of Longevity, aka Booster Spice, for Spice coin without worrying about people who don't even play the game messing with the price through some exchange that isn't even located inside the game.

Hmm, might even be worth implementing ageing into games that don't have it, just so as to sell longevity... :)

It wasn't a scam. Instead of trying to get listed on an existing exchange, people decided that having our own exchange would work.

That flopped, people lost coins.

One thing that killed UFC was changing the algo from scrypt to blake. I stopped mining after that.

I still hold a bunch of UFC and KED, would be nice to see these listed at least on the 2nd tier exchanges.

this is a load of shit.

all projects around the scifi coins were 100% fan driven. these were the days before yobit and bleutrade that would list every piece of shit with or without a github and the only exchange struggled to stay online and working. once it died, everything else mostly went with it. . . though you can see there are still nodes and blockchains out there so not sad at all.

^ that sums up the situation pretty fairly. Infact that was pretty much one of the exact reasons why me and hartland gave up. When we asked around for testers of scifi-ex when we wanted to relaunch it. no one was interested.

Resolve problem with PoS minting.

Sometimes, if you have big amount of transactions in wallet and try PoS minting,
CPU load about 100% and connections to network constantly lost - it is not only problem for you,
but problem for all network (orphan blocks and micro fork). Especially I see it in KED coin.

I recommend do next:
1 - add to config:  reservebalance=100000 (if you have for instance 90000 coins)
2 - start wallet and wait several connections.
3 - type in console (debug window): reservebalance true 80000
4 - minting was started, wait when new blocks will be rare.
5 - type:  reservebalance true 70000
6 - repeat 4 and 5, and so on.

How long do they list a coin for at those prices? Do you get listed for longer if you pay more? What's the removal policy? Most exchanges remove low volume coins after a given amount of time. Bittrex often displays a warning message saying a coin will be removed if it doesn't get 0.2 BTC worth of volume in the next seven days.

I don't think Yobit really delists coins. They are not a top three exchange and would most likely keep hosting the coins. Sort of like Cryptsy but with less volume.

It would be nice to trade some sci-fi coins again.

Now you may use PoW mining in KED coin. I solve high difficulty block.
And better create new wallet for mining.

Title: Re: Sci-fi coin online status.
Post by: markm on August 06, 2015, 08:40:55 PM
I found that KED would just hang, some kind of port problem, when I tried having it mine (with its built-in miner).

So I haven't done much with it yet. I have none to stake so it presumably wasn't the too many coins to stake problem mentioned upthread.

Wouldn't it be nicer to trade these coins in game between the civilisations that use them as their national currencies, and between characters who are citizens of those civilisations, before getting all tied up in all the planet-known-as-Earth (http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=the_planet_known_as_earth) crap altcoins tend to get subjected to?

Mot of the coins aren't even secure fergoshsakes. Even if one believed that Proof of Stake can be secure, some of the coins are only Proof of Work, and have far from enough work to secure them.

Maybe they should all be moved over either to merged mining or to proof of stake or both?

UFC, KED updated.

Title: Re: Sci-fi coin online status.
Post by: vampirus on August 10, 2015, 05:06:11 PM
Interesting facts about some coins:

GPL
PoS interest: 5% per year
Min stake time: 1 year
Current Nfactor - 16
Min difficulty - 0.00024414 (15).

KED
PoS interest: 100% per year
Min stake time: 30 days
If recapitalize interests every months: 260% per year.

UFC
Algo blake256
Min difficulty: 256
Do not work with stratum pools and p2pools.
May be work with eloipool.

UPD: GPL advise - after some time (about 3 hrs.) without new blocks, new PoW blocks was rejected.
Just restart Qt.

Title: Re: Sci-fi coin online status.
Post by: markm on August 11, 2015, 02:22:23 AM
In games, in theory. You'd find some civilisation that uses the coin and do some kind of deal with them.

Or choose which one your civilisation is going to use and get active in game, making it known to other players which coin you use so even if you haven't yet heard who uses which, they will get to know which you use and maybe approach you and tell you which they use...

The Galactic Milieu (http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=galactic_milieu) uses Freeciv for handling planetary scale so does not really support alien species and races and such, but for humanoids maybe it doesn't much matter and you could still have Klingons, Ferrengi and such running around if you wanted to tie some of these currencies to the traditional civilisations intended to use them?

not even FireFlycoin which seems not to be one of the coins listed here

Come meet up with sci-fi loving folks at the Galactic Diplomacy Planet!

Fire up a Crossfire RPG (http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=crossfire_rpg) client and tell it the server you want to connect to is the CrossCiv (http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=crossciv) server:

CrossCiv.no-ip.org

To get into the sci-fi milieu instead of the fantasy milieu you will have to pick a non-fantasy character, which means no non-humans, no mages, no clerics, no paladins.

Something ordinary like a human barbarian or swashbuckler.

Barbarians don't start with literacy so consider trying swashbuckler - basically some kind of crewperson off of a starship.

Plain old warrior is kind of a special case, because they get Oratory which is kind of like a charm person spell, so although they ought in theory be the logical diplomats for the various civilisations to send to the Galactic Diplomacy Planet they do not usually get to start there, instead they usually get to pick a nationality and they start in a sketchy little map intended to be developed into the capitol city of their civilisation; once a number of people who all chose the same nation have worked out how they want to run their nation and who they want to choose from among them to become their delegate to the Diplomacy Planet will be time enough to see about getting them transportation to it...

EDIT: Hmm actually maybe that stuff about nations requires the ancient clients, where you choose professions on maps in the game; recent clients have you choose profession and such right in your client, so maybe you can in fact, using a modern client, get a plain old warrior/figher to the Galactic Diplomacy planet. Unfortunately you probably also cannot get to the national capitols anymore either thans to the new way clients handle character creation. Bummer. Oh well.

My proposal about rebranding GPL

Rename and change Logo to remove copyright problems.
Gold Pressed Platinum - GPL (or  Gold Platinum Coin)
min stake 30 days
stake  12 or 24% yearly
max stake block 2 or 5 coins
With 24% stake we hit max supply (1 Million) in 10 years or more.
Add coin control and block explorer in wallet.

Title: Re: Sci-fi coin online status.
Post by: Dunkelheit667 on September 04, 2015, 10:59:13 PM
Just a thought, what about... merging GPL, KED, UFC and QBT? Like...

1) Create a new coin, let's say "NotRobert'sCoin".
2) Calculate the energy used for mining one GPL, KED, UFC and QBT. Should be possible to calculate a total GHash for any blockchain and an average mining device energy consumption for the different algorithms.
3) Calculate a fair "exchange rate" between the old coins, ignore the premined coins from old devs (if any).
4) Premine the needed "NotRobert'sCoins" accordingly, make sure every mined old coin could be exchanged to the new coin.
5) Ask us to send our old coins to a trash address, send us the new coins.
6) The old blockchains will die as nobody is using the old clients/coins anymore.
7) Let's focus on "NotRobert'sCoin".

Pros:
- we could focus on one coin, guess it's easier to have just one node, block explorer etc.
- we can forget the old coins

Cons:
- some will miss the themed old coins
- there will be a discussion regarding engery consumption and average mining devices used
- the person managing the trash addresses should be trusted

Again, just a thought. I have no clue what I'm typing about. ::)

Actually, just wanted to ask if GPL does stake at the moment. :D

My GPL do not. Anything I've missed in the conf-file? "gen=1" should do the trick, right?

Title: Re: Sci-fi coin online status.
Post by: vampirus on September 04, 2015, 11:30:01 PM
GPL now staking if transaction in wallet older that 1 year, wallet not encrypted and you do not have reservebalance= in config.

About one coin to replace GPL, KED, UFC and QBT. I think about this, but what coin include: DPZ, SPICE and QBT or only Startrek coins.
And coins on different algo, some user not agree with other decision. Only rebrand one by one or exchange on auction to new premined coin.

Title: Re: Sci-fi coin online status.
Post by: mogrith on September 05, 2015, 03:01:56 AM
I'm not interested in a one coin replacement. I think of these coins more like the old collectable plates. not ever going to get my money back but that's not the point. I like to see more SF coins. Sonic Screws?  X-File Feds? Maybe some fanatasy Coins like Lanister Lions, Iron Bank Tokens, Stark Silver WolfHeads?

Not that I think they will create a usable ecosystem with stores etc. people buying a few at an exchange just to have them

But there may not be enough buyers like me to keep them going.

You may vote 1 for free and 5 vote per 1 cryptsy points.
If you want pay voting, first buy Cryptsy points, it is 7 times cheaper than BTC voting.

Why you vote only for free, try use cryptsy points. I can't pay for all coins myself.
First, I start from KED, then GPL.
1. KED wallet have no problem and do not need any update.
2. Most users vote for KED on Cryptsy  (free votes)
3. It is only coin, I take from scifi-ex before closing.

I can pay for 5000 votes ($30), but need another users participations.

I tried to run KED, and gave up because it constantly clogged up its port, and that was just using its built in miner.

So I do not agree that there is no problem with KED, it in fact appears not to work, at least its miner appears not to work.

It would not be able to open a port already opened by another coin surely? It would just quit saying it cannot get the port.

Nice to see that there is still some ... well I don't know exactly what... going on with the Scifi coins...

I found a federationcredit daemon and blockchain on an old disk and decided to give it a whirl...

No peers until I found this topic.  ;D

Current peers accepting inbound connections for UFC are:

Title: Re: Sci-fi coin online status.
Post by: vampirus on November 15, 2015, 08:37:56 PM
Some scrypt-jane miners unstable. I use very stable miner from Hartland (dreamwatcher)
My command line for 4Gb video: (This code use only 75% performance of video)
Code:
ybcminer.exe --scrypt -s 5 --Nfmax 15 -I 8  -g 1 --thread-concurrency 27648 -w 128 --lookup-gap 1  --fix-protocol -o 127.0.0.1:23645 -O user:pass

For 2Gb try this:
Code:
ybcminer.exe --scrypt -s 5 --Nfmax 15 -I 9  -g 1 --thread-concurrency 27648 -w 128 --lookup-gap 2  --fix-protocol -o 127.0.0.1:23645 -O user:pass

In some miners instead --scrypt, use --scrypt-jane and instead --Nfmax , use --nfmax
With N-factor 16 and more this miner (and may be all others) become unstable.

For maximum performance and 2Gb video try this:
Code:
ybcminer.exe --scrypt -s 5 --Nfmax 15 -I 10  -g 1 --thread-concurrency 55296 -w 128 --lookup-gap 4  --fix-protocol -o 127.0.0.1:23645 -O user:pass

How about asking Blockchain Mechanic to provide you with a Codex-like system in order to use all these coins from a single wallet in spv mode ? it would be nice to unite them all under the Sci-Fi project.

I personally hold some GPL, because i like the Ferengis, and i found this coin to be suitably maintained by a capable Dev.

Thank you Vampirus for the time and work you provide for these coins.

DPZ, UFC, SPICE - unlimited swap, but limited time.
GPL, KED, QBT - up to 5-10% of its supply.
All swapped GPL, KED, QBT go to Cryptopia reward system and cryptoguru.tk Faucet.
DPZ, UFC, SPICE go to my addresses and keep for future use.
New coin will be CryptoBuck2 clone with some changes.
Any thoughts?

Title: Re: Sci-fi coin online status.
Post by: vampirus on May 08, 2017, 12:46:20 AM
Only 5 % of GPL will be swapped and go to reward and faucet for attracting new user. All swap is freewill.

GPL, KED and QBT not die, numbers of nodes for KED and price go up, GPL and QBT difficulty go up.

About swap, first thought - 5% of 20% USFC go to each DPZ, UFC, SPICE,
the rest 5% and unclaimed amount from DPZ, UFC, SPICE will be swapped based on exchange rate,
after USFC will be listed on exchange or may be another way.

Title: Re: Sci-fi coin online status.
Post by: Dunkelheit667 on May 08, 2017, 02:08:09 AM
As GPL, KED and QBT are performing well I was wondering why they should be merging into USFC. But it's just a percentage for promotion, okay. :)

DPZ, UFC and SPICE are not performing that good, so the idea is to transition these coins to USFC and focusing on the new coin.

Guess I got it. :)

Sounds interesting so far.

Just one thought, as I have my nodes on a Raspberry Pi and never got GPL running, please don't use that scrypt-jane algo for the new coin. I liked the UFC algo (blake?) as this was always efficent and easy to setup. But just a minor wish. ;)

I would vote for six months. Sounds fair for the folks not checking frequently this forum?

Title: Re: Sci-fi coin online status.
Post by: vampirus on May 08, 2017, 06:58:21 PM
OK, six months. But countdown start from today.

About swap order. After start new coin, bitcointalk user send me private message with new USFC address.
I send him address for DPZ (UFC, SPICE)
Then you may send to me small amount for test that all OK. After that you can send me all coins for swap or better part after part.
After receiving some coins I send you USFC based on swap rate. (for example DPZ money supply = 5% of USFC max money (25% of premine))
If on final date not all DPZ (UFC, SPICE) swapped, I send the rest of USFC to users that already swap - proportionally.
I also can swap coins that stuck on Sci-fi exchange, if you give me proof (screenshot with balance or honor bright (for some users only)
Coin swap not accepted from new registered users and Sci-fi exchange staff.

1% (5% of premine) will be swapped on 3% GPL (QBT, KED) each. The rest of premine (2%) go to bounty and swap after 6 months for latecomers.

UFC and SPICE not destroyed yet. If all coins you send to me, stop mining, no nodes online, no exchange - it is mean coin destroyed.

Perhaps I worded my question poorly.  When the swap to USFC occurs are the coins sent to you being burnt?

I want create new coin and consolidate some old sci-fi coins in it.
Working name United Sci-fi Coin.
Premine 20% - for swap old coins.

Have some UFC kicking around... Even mined a few more blocks some time last year... then turned it off...

I guess there are now peers up. Does anyone have a recent blockchain? Anyway, would be happy to swap.

Downloading the blockchain took me less than an hour on a test machine some weeks ago. However, if you're really desperate, I can upload it to an mega.nz-account. Just let me know. :)

Edit: Some active nodes:

Do you have an ETA for the new coin USFC ?

Just check, version 2.5.5 works fine. In v2.5.6 only visual changes.
ETA for USFC 4-6 weeks.

Has anyuone discovered yet any WORKING free open source code for a cryptocoin exchange? I have been trying to set up an exchange for many years now, for a long time I have been using Open Transactions but they still have not finalised their data format. Most recently I have started to migrate coins and assets to the HORIZON network.

Actually HORIZON might be a good way to implement the coins you want to phase out, Vampirus. We can migrate them to become assets or currrencies on HORIZON.

I will still be running nodes of SPICE, UFC, GPL and Qubits-3 regardless of what you end up doing, as all these coins are in use and gradually guilds, associations, nations, civilisations, clans etc are being developed who will be using them as their native currencies. AXIOM and AXON will continue also likewise.

The way I see it, the raison d'κtre of these coins is the fandom they represent. Take away that and there is no reason to continue, the merger of several fandoms does not create a stronger coin, it just creates boredom. I have a little SPICE and I will most likely not send them.

I'm a long time holder of GPL and would love to host a node for GPL and perhaps some others on the Blocknet when it's live. It's currently working on testnet for a few pairings but once unleashed there is only the requirement of meeting op_checklockverify and bip something. I'm not a coder but I am a holder of Block.

From their reddit AMA:

"The Blocknet is the only project in our awareness that decentralises the four core functions of an exchange - capital deposits, order broadcast, order matching, and coin exchange.

 • all coins stay in wallets

 • orders are broadcast over an inter-chain DHT network overlay

 • order books are compiled by local applications, not a central or distributed entity

 • coin exchange is atomic and trustless, utilising OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY and not requiring the control of any third party.

As for interoperability in general and the emerging token ecosystem, the Blocknet is deliberately designed to function as infrastructure. No central chain is required, enabling services to be built on any chain and monetised and delivered over xbridgep2p, our "blockchain router," to nodes on any other chain and to dapps harnessing blockchain services."

Also, Horizon had been associated with the Blocknet since the beginning but I'm not hearing much about them anymore.

Anyway to verify the requirements are met on these scifi coins?

I see some users not want change their coins to USFC, may be need swap coins one by one, I start from DPZ, because I have only DPZ and a little  SPICE.

New concept of USFC.
only PoS coin with high diff like Hyperstake.
In coin swap only DPZ, KED, UFC, GPL
All coins, except DPZ stay in yours hands.
DPZ - full swap
For KED, UFC, GPL I create special fork (side chain like ETC)
Yours coins stay in main chain and same coins you have in special fork.
You send me 100% yours coins in forked wallet, I send you USFC.
25% of premine go to each DPZ, KED, UFC, GPL.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

BTW, thanks vampirus, for keeping all those coins alive...

Yes, it is working. Might be nobody found a block for a long time? Just checked my node, as of now the last block is 257664 and it was found ~30 minutes ago. :)

I have found my UFC wallets and managed to sync and combine them... I guess there is no explorer. The chain is moving along at minimum difficulty.

My thoughts...

- UFC seems to support multisig addresses. Maybe for the swap, 2 of 2 multisigaddresses could be used.  This way possible "future use" could be agreed on...
- If coins are burnt, the remaining spendable coins become more rare. I won't say more valuable. Part of the value is that other people hold coins and are willing to exchange them for something.
- Maybe coins sent for swap could have different value based on the time of their previous TX or when they were mined. News of a swap could create a sudden interest in mining, but then again, that's what difficulty is for.

I would be surprised, have not seen a block above minimum difficulty (256) since the pools were closed some years ago.  :-\

Old pool was on Scrypt algo, now UFC on blake256r8 and it not work with stratum or P2P pool, only solo mining.

Alright, I'm not exactly sure on the specifics of whats going on here since I've been out of the crypto game for a while. Of the coins you have listed I only hold SPICE, but I have a significant amount of it... and it appears on the brink of death... what is going on with the swap? How do I go about getting this new coin?

If I decide swap SPICE, it will be after swap DPZ, UFC, KED, GPL
After swap, you save yours  SPICE in main chain.

All my UFO disappear in scifi and cryptorush exchanges (44,000,000 UFO) and I do not want mining more.

I was also damaged by cryptorush's exchange collapse. I think I did lose PANDA coins in millions. Coin was dead soon afterwards anyway.

Where is everyone trading all these coins?

They have been on Stellar for a long time now but it seems like you-all must be off somewhere else doing all your trading?

Where?

Not on the HORIZON platform either much it looks like.

( Had I mentioned long ago already they are listed on HORIZON? https://makemoney.knotwork.com/horizon/assets/ )

So where else are they all listed?

Where are you-all?
