There should be a sticker on the back or inside the battery compartment (once you remove the battery) that would tell you the specific model and may even include the laptop's specifications.
I assume it's a windows laptop but just needs a new version installed on it? Have you tested it for any faults and are you certain that it is in working order? Right now it's just formatted and needs an OS. Powers on, seems to work just fine. It was a computer of a friends who didn't need it anymore. I used to work on them, but stopped and had this one leftover. Hope this helps. If I can help anymore, let me know.
