Sure, why not? If, however, you claim your friend created the entire universe, can perform miracles, is immortal, and has countless more implausible properties, well those are pretty good reasons not to believe you and instead conclude you're either lying or delusional.

I dont understand this stupid question. I noticed that many questions here are stupid.

So You will believe,  ("Why not")  , than Why Not God ? and lets me tell you that my friend didnt create the entire universe, or cant perform miracles .... but the god do  , and your are already living in it.  :)

Didn't say I don't believe. Said that I didn't believe or not believe. Reason for saying this is I have no reason for believing or not believing.

You didn't say that you had a friend with that name (at least not in your first post). You only asked what we believe. We never thought about it. That is the reason we don't believe or not believe.

If you say that you have such a friend, perhaps then we will be able to determine if we believe you or not.

I just told you exactly why not. As unlikely as it is that a person making a clichéd argument about the existence of god on an Internet forum would have a least one friend, the concept is at least self-consistent and is not logically or physically impossible, and hence is believable (albeit with some difficulty). The notion that the universe was created by an omnipotent God is another matter altogether, and in any case has nothing in common with belief in a random forum-user's friend, so it isn't a valid comparison in the first place.

At least you can determine that the universe was created by God, if you study cause and effect, complex universe without any apparent reason for the complexity, and universal entropy in enough detail.

I have no prior way of knowing whether or not you do or do not have a friend called hatim. If you claim you do then yes, I believe you as you would have no real reason to lie to me about something as small as a friend of yours. If you do not claim you have a friend named hatim or do not claim anything I would not think you have a friend as the name hatim is a very uncommon name (If it even is a name). Now please go on and prove to me how god is real.

Don't really know, but you must admit it's kinda funny to read their chain of logic... If my friend exists, then god must exist...
Ofcourse, it's less funny IRL when jehova's witnesses are knocking on your door, using the same logic to convince you there is a magical superbeing...

Hatim is a contraction without the apostrophe. It really is "hate him," and should really be spelled "hat'im" to spell it as a contraction.
