Title: President Obama admires Putin’s help over Iran nuclear talks
Post by: KriszDev on July 16, 2015, 09:35:28 AM
President Barack Obama has said that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin helped the United States to conclude the prolonged nuclear negotiations with Iran despite tensions between Washington and Moscow.

“Russia was a help on this. I’ll be honest with you. I was not sure given the strong differences we are having with Russia right now around Ukraine, whether this would sustain itself,” the US president said during an interview with the New York Times on Tuesday.

“Putin and the Russian government compartmentalized on this in a way that surprised me, and we would have not achieved this agreement had it not been for Russia’s willingness to stick with us and the other P5-Plus members in insisting on a strong deal,” he added.

Iran and the P5+1 group of countries -- the US, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany -- reached a conclusion on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in the Austrian capital of Vienna on Tuesday.

The JCPOA will put limits on Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for the removal of sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

According to the text of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, Iran will be recognized by the United Nations as a nuclear power and will continue its uranium enrichment program.

There is something I like in this President: he is showing to be a real statesman. This last move, to show appreciation for Putin's behavior about Iran is a nice move. This is a clue that this administration is planning to do something to restart from what Bush administration did WITH Russia. It's just a little step, but a meaningful step.

Secretary of State Clinton gave Russia's FM Sergei Lavrov a little plastic re-set button 6 years ago.

It says "INVADE UKRAINE" on it. Isn't that hilarious?

It's been a great re-set. Vlad the Invader saved Obama from his Syrian "red line" face plant and now he's helped him screw over America and its allies.

With friends like Vladimir Putler who needs enemies?

Putin is toying with Obama.

Obama is nowhere near Putin in terms of political skill as has been demonstrated multiple times already.

Its embarrassing to watch actually.

Obama is dovish, while Putin is quite aggressive. Also, Putin is ex-KGB and much more experienced when compared to Obama. That said, we should appreciate Obama for helping to resolve the Iran issue, despite enormous pressure from warmongers such as Hillary Clinton (who promised the Israelis that she will nuke Iran) and Joe Biden.
