Title: Bitgold - how legit is it ?
Post by: MadGamer on July 16, 2015, 11:08:41 AM
Maybe you know this new company who is around for couple of months or so , I never tested it but I know that it's kinda too good to be true I mean you get grams of gold just by refering people which is UP to 50$ (you and who you refered) on affiliate (not sure about referal) and refereer don't haveto deposit or anything .
Is it a ponzi , im not sure if people can withraw directly once they make the accounts or they have to wait minimum amount etc .. please share your experience on this website

I have come across this many times as well with people trying to refer me, as of yet I have not joined it as I will wait for a while to see if it still exists in a few months.

Well they are probably doing referal think that high only for now so people join their website ,p retty sure they won't be doing it forever when they have enough customers to make profit .

Hi, they not pay all the people that are joining, only ones that joined trought a referal link. And most of the countries only 0.025 grams of gold (less than 1 $ ). Some european and nordamerican countries 0.25gr of gold and very few countries 0.50 grams of Gold.

To see how legit is, you can find more info on yahoo finance:

Not sure what XAU.V means and what that chart means to be honest :o can't seem be able to read it .
Speaking about the money earned, I keep aksing people if they can withraw instantly and directly once they signup but no one seem to know or answering :/ any idea ?

XAU.V is the code of the shares of BitGold Inc.

No, you can't withdraw the same day that you sign up. The gold that they give you to sign up, has a hold time of 60 days. You can't withdaw it on first 60 days.

And for now, they don't accept withdaw to bitcoins wallet. Now only sending you a gold cube of 10 gr (you need to have more than 10 gr of gold plus shipping cost). Or you can withdraw to your bank account (there is a minium).

selling your personal data for 0.25 gr gold or less is a big joke. I wouldn't touch them with a five feet pole

I haven't tested it either but seems for now you just need to verify your phone number and not your ID for receiving the gold .

They may be legit, I don't know. But consider the concept. It is a copy of what is normally called "paper gold". When you buy the gold you do not get actual gold but a share of gold that is (supposedly) held by the issuer. IMO, that is a very distant second place to owning gold. Doesn't it make way more sense to buy gold? Real gold you can hold in your hand?

They looks shitty to be honest , for those who wanna buy , they better buy it from their local stores or of course if they know a lot of people , they can use referal and get shitload of grams then redeem once they have 1kg .

selling your personal data for 0.25 gr gold or less is a big joke. I wouldn't touch them with a five feet pole

you can use a random phone number from the web if you don't want to give them your phone numbers

but if they are still so new, i don't want to trust them so easily

my question is, do they offer some interest on your deposit? there is profit ot be made there besides trading?

They don't offer interest on your deposit, just a way to store your gold and send it to you when you want it.
This fact did not appeal to my interest in the program, but the bitcoin card to do withdraws with did. But that has not been available since they launched. They said it would take a while but it has been over 3 months now but no news about when it will be available to withdraw to it yet. Keeping my eyes peeled when they do then I might join up to get the 0.5g of free gold.

#  It allow you to get Physical gold when you withraw.(Good Feature)

I am Fed-up with their Referal Urls in My PMs , emails , whatsapp..everywhere.
and i am not going to try that , they require your phone , email and some short of identity proof..
for few grams of Gold , i don't gonna do it.

Moreover the company is Trustworthy and has paid many of its customer as per proofs available on different forums.

basically the only good thing is that you can actually ask for a real gold if you want

but if this is the case i'm not interested either, bitcoin is gold 2.0 for me, no reason to buy gold anymore when you have this new beautiful technology

real gold has some advantages though. however, I don't feel save by keeping "my" gold in digital form with a 3rd centralized party like bitgold.

by the way, BitShares BitGold is decentralized and in your wallet!
