Title: Litecoin - Your thoughts since $9
Post by: crypto_keeper on July 16, 2015, 04:50:49 PM
First post here under my official name.   Hello all.    How has your LTC trading been?  Super volatile and Bitcoin is smart and remaining roughly the same.

I made a killing from shorting at $9 to $5 and from $4.78 down to $3.30.

How has everyone else done and where do you think the bottom is?

China's dump destroyed LTC. Now we are all just pumping/dumping against each other on the way down. I think LTC hitting the moon from the halving is not gonna happen (thnx to China), but I would say... if BTC rockets we will too. So it's still a good bet.

Could be wrong and halving takes us to $10+, but think about it, everyone who was burned last week is gonna be way more cautious from here on. China made us their bitch and no one is gonna fall for it a second time.

I did a short from $4.5 to $4.0, which made me a lot of money.
I feel somewhat stupid for closing my position prematurely but you have to take profits somewhere, right?

I have to add that I do not have a solid read on the litecoin market.
It is going against all fundamentals on a regular basis so it is a good opportunity to lose a lot of money as well.

I think the litecoin price will rise in august, when the blocksize will have (50 ltc to 25 ltc)

Was expected.

Pump before halving, and Bitcoin pump too to increase the effect.  Now it will return to the mean of $1-$2

Sadly I made no buy before the pump

Good point... You have to admit it was overvalued when the sudden price jump happened.   I wouldn't get too excited about halving.   It is almost priced in and will be before that happens.

Crypto currency shorters eat like chickens and will shit like elephants.
Also: Where do you short and who is the counterparty for the short position?

Do you think we are going to enter the upper blue box on the right side of your chart early, or is the current ~$3.80 still in the yellow range?

Looks like the value is stairstepping down after repeated mini pumps from China's OKCoin. One more week and we should be at LTC's real baseline value. I would also think that the halving is already embedded in the price.

litecoin was a good ride to the top and helped me make a lot of bitcoin on the way. and i was lucky i got out of it in time and prevented any kind of loss at all.

but now the market is hard to predict and most likely it is going to its previous state of always going down with dead cat bounces. and every bump looks like the desperate move.

at this stage i don't think we can see any sort of big movement as the result of block halving since china has wrecked the litecoin market for good.

Could bounce to the upper blue box but I don't think so. Its the average bagholder butthurt zone. If it should bounce there I would short it again. If no, I would wait some weeks or months and start accumulating again  8)

The bottom is obviously, which should be under 0.007BTC. I never touch LTC.
Good luck.

It already did. And when the ltc dollar price is >2$ it already doubled from it's bottom (like btc currently).

Even though the ltc market seems to be sometimes detached (or front running) the btc market, in the end it always looks at it's big brother in which direction to move long term.

According to me litecoin is easy to pump and dump for the whales.
So I don't believe in any altcoin just invest in Bitcoin.

I think Litecoin is will test 0.01 level soon.
There is no good news after the huge pump and many people are selling which will depress the price.
