Did you paint that little yellow word on the left? Or did you just find this?

It looks good and it blends well making it have a realistic feel to it.
What did you use to make this and how long did it take you?
Do you have any other things that you've created? If you do and they're original, I may be interested in buying some.

Is it Tokyo? Looks really fine, somehow reminds me of a level from a well made computer game. A bitcoin logo would be nice if you could fit it in there.

i like it, it reming me of some cyber punk games, they should create one where the ingame currency is bitcoin, would be a neat idea

The title should not be <My Bitcoin artwork> then, if you only painted the Bitcoin part. The original creator of that image have the copyrights on it. It's still well done, and fits very well into the theme of the work.
It would be much more impressive if you painted the whole thing. ^hint^

I will set it as my wallpaper for a week, just because it makes a statement. Like the graffiti that was done next to the Greek banks banner. <Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?>

A nicely atmospheric study.

I got it from wallhaven, images are public domain. With public domain images you're free to use them in any way.

Er, just because an arbitrary web site spuriously declares it to be public domain doesn't make it so, they have no right to make that assignment.

The image owner is Tokyo Fashion, the image rights are clearly stated on the flickr page: “All rights reserved”.

That's not public domain by any stretch of the imagination.

Reminds me of a scene in the game, though I'm not certain what game was it. Do you have any more works that you can show us? And is it possible to buy some of your works? I just thought that I could probably use these kind of images in promoting bitcoins in my place.

It reminds me of the zombie game dead nation. I actually started recently and the last one i just posted is my 3rd work, i'm making more and show you my work. I do graffiti and stickers on different textures. Shoot me a price if u're interested or want something custom.

This was already on the forums a few days ago, I think... or maybe I saw it somewhere else. Didn't knew the artist was a user here! Good work, keep it up!

The hair covering the one eye in your avatar made me suspicious, are you friends with WoodCollector by chance?

Not necessarily.... Check the precedent here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cariou_v._Prince (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cariou_v._Prince)
If an artists changes another artists work significantly, or in a transformative manner, the copyrights change over too. So what you add to an existing work must comment on the original or change its appearance significantly.
OP would most likely lose this argument, but as long as he is t selling it he might be safe. The original copyright holders might not care, at worst would send a cease and desist.
Richard Prince pretty much obliterates the original material in his (hugely overrated) artworks.

Nice bitcoin artwork, you should setup a small gallery portfolio with a bitcoin donation so they could download your artwork at a set resolution you feel good with and make some satoshis of those who donate.

No problem, I'm not sure that if you will be the first one to do this but is a pretty good shot to get a good amount of exposure if you land a good domain and with it you could offer other digital artist to show their work on your website for bitcoin sales or donations you could make it pretty big, maybe writing an investor pitch could get you some funding if you need a good amount of fund to develop something unique.

Thanks for drawing my attention to that, I wasn't aware the appeal had succeeded. Not that it negates the point I made. Prince was fully aware of the image rights whereas OP was labouring under a profound misapprehension that the work was in the public domain and could be freely adapted and re-used.

Quote
OP would most likely lose this argument, but as long as he is t selling it he might be safe. The original copyright holders might not care, at worst would send a cease and desist.

I agree but s'not so much the current instance, more a case of helping someone avoid easily-avoidable trouble in the future. I would imagine Tokyo Fashion would've responded positively if the OP had sought permission and a “by kind permission” would lend just a bit more weight to the work.

The web-served versions of our own works are freely available for non-commercial re-use. An example:

https://i.imgur.com/3pPZKFO.jpg (http://imgur.com/3pPZKFO)

They're available as limited-edition prints, we're looking at using the blockchain for provenance.

Cheers

Graham

with photoshop or maya you can do amazing things, but i think he used something less heavy, not paint for sure  :D, but maybe it drew them in the good old way? would be amazing

if he can do the same on famous paintings, it would be awesome

BTCitcoin word seems awesome and that is nice piece of artwork, the color combination looking eye catching, that is interesting idea to put bitcoin word on famous paintings to get attention from new people towards this innovation.
