I suspect that means lots of money in aid; and a dumping of Cuba's criminals, uneducated, old and sick, and loafers onto US soil so my working sons can pay for it. Last year they were in a 20% tax bracket after working 10-12 hours a day, six days a week. If my sons knew where all the money they pay in was going, there would be a revolt.

But they're doing extremely well for a nation that got cut off from most of the world and had the cornerstone of their economic infrastructure ripped out from under them. These sanctions are causing immense hardship to the ordinary Cubans, and doesn't seems to help the US to achieve its objective of regime change in Cuba by any means. On the other hand, both the sides can benefit a lot from peaceful co-existence.

I recall some interesting dynamic to that,just like Cubas main export is doctors. That always trips me out. Raul is doing what is best for his country and losing friends to economic issues has cost them dearly. Be interesting to see who steps in for Raul when the time comes,it may bring a interesting era for Cuba. |
