Sweet, in for 1!

Anyone know of any good waterblocks already made for these?

Also, as soon as it comes in and I find a water block, anyone want to buy my pair of 6990's with waterblocks?

PowerColor any good? I usually just buy from MSi and Sapphire.

I jam 3x 30" Dell monitors @ 2560x1600 each. I  need the raw performance.

I don't think it's necessary. Looks like it stays fairly cool maxed out. AMD didn't make a vanilla for this model. Instead they gave everything over to the companies so they can design their own cooling.

"Overclocked to 1160 Core and 6600 Effective Memory at default voltage settings. With a 3 slot cooler temp hit 68C running Heaven 3.0 with settings maxed out. Being a enthusiest I had to have this card."

It's all about the dB man, not the performance when it comes to the fans.

Ah, gotcha. I'm still using fans for all my stuff. Haven't had a silent night's rest in nearly a year.

I put PowerColor up there with Sapphire and Gigabyte. Never used MSI, but I think they're in the same class.

Why not quadfire on a big bang board? 7970's are cheap in relation to this monster. Who's going to make a wb for this one-off 'x2' board? Don't start talking about less cf issues because they will be there, I promise.  That said, I want one.

Because I don't have a big bang board (and don't want one) and managing my two 6990's is kind of a pain with water blocks.  I'm looking forward to only having to manage one card.  Less heat, too... not that it's going to be a big deal after the ASICs come, as all my GPUs will be turned off.

Well, I found a way for you to power them if you do want to add a second.  http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Cases-and-Cooling/Miller-Electric-10000W-Power-Supply-Review

12V 375A - simply a welder machine.

BTW: Let people see Inaba buys such a GPU... Lo and behold, he himself don't believe in ASICs... ;)

What do you play? Didn't know miners were into gaming. But I guess it kinda makes sense.

Right now?  BF3, ME3 and Skyrim... though I haven't had much time to play in the past couple months.

I honestly would buy one for a grand if it came with a waterblock. Until then, 7970's under water can still be added to a loop for less than this card with stock air cooling.

Actually it lies in the asics when they come out.. which I don't think they will till next year.

Mind if I add you on Origin? I play BF3 often, and I could also use a pilot/gunner when flying choppers

do we expect about 90% of 2x 7970 hashing speed? or about 1.35Ghash/s max?

At 1.35ghash your talking about dissipating over 400 watts with one heat sink, good luck with that
