Title: Recomended poker rooms (poll version)
Post by: patt0 on July 20, 2015, 10:32:45 AM
This discussion started in this thread

But there was no voting mechanism and after a few suggestions I decided to create this one with a poll. You can continue the suggestions and discussion here, and you can add more poker rooms to the poll.

The objective here is to vote on the poker room you would recommend and explain why, so that it's easier for someone to start trying some btc poker rooms, and with the hope that the player base might start growing in some of the best rooms. For now I believe that most btc rooms have a very small player base and there are many rooms out there, so it's hard to choose one that is reliable and trust worthy.

Went with seals although i've not tried out some of the others and heard betcoin is alright.  When i first got into bitcoin i played a bit at seals and the software was decent and traffic was not bad considering :)

Have you tried adding those options to the poll? (you should be allowed to do that)
If you can't let me know and I will add them so you can vote.

I would recomended to play in Betcoin.ag because there is many poker players play and also there is many free roll tournament. The interface looks good, classic and simple, so it's no wonder many users who play there

I don't see that it's necessary to discuss it again since people discussed that a lot in the previous thread  ;D
I voted for betcoin , but as I said before non of the btc sites will totally satisfy you  :D
also I think you should add PlayTodos , it's a new site but seems promising

If only 1 option for this poll, definitely I am voting for betcoinpoker, they have best VIP program and daily bonus box, damn cool program I have seen.

If there are 2 options, I will vote for swc cause it has good team, good UI, and many freerolls, the second best one poker house in btc community.

My third like is luckyflop, they had good freerolls, but now there is not hourly freeroll any more, what a pity.

Can't you add the room? I selected the that option when I created the poll. Users should be allowed to add new rooms to the poll.
If you can't do that please let me know, so I can start adding those rooms, so others can vote.

And about the need for discussion, of course that there is no need to repeat what has been said on the other thread, that's why I put the link for it on this one. I only mention that for users that are only participating now, they should of course vote and say why.

As I pointed out in the last thread, other users can't edit the voting options by themselves - only you can do it, as the thread creator. Also, perhaps you confused the option "Allow user to change vote" (which allows a user to change his vote after casting it once), with the possibility of allowing a user to change the voting options? :P

My first pick is nitrogensports, because its the most simply, no client download, many free tournaments and nice design. Second one is betcoin.ag and the third is luckyflop. I dont like swcpoker because of the clined download.

As you can see there is a top voted one that is "kicking" the others.

Ups you are right. For some reason I read "add" and not "change" (guess I wanted that and my mind tricked me xD)
I will add the new rooms to the poll.

You can cast your vote now, I added the room you mentioned.
(also added playtodos as it was recommended by SkyGambler)

The voting is still open indeed. You can't vote in it, because of your newbie rank.
You must be at least a Jr. Member to vote in polls. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=606989.0

As Dennis7777 mentioned the vote is still open and it will remain that way, so fell free to come back when you are able to vote.

I will start trying the poker rooms myself and then I will also vote.
For now I started playing at betcoin.ag because it was one of the most voted so far and it has a browser interface so I can play without installing the software.
It seems ok for now. I only played ring games so far, and there aren't to many players at the tables which will probably be a problem in the future. It has plenty of tournaments with a GTD pot which is something I like, I haven't tried them yet but I think I will like the experience, because although I like many players at the cash tables I prefer tournaments with fewer players so I don't have to play them for so long.

The only think I did not like for now was the interface, I don't like the 4 color deck, and the sort feature does not seem to work (at least in the browser version, I will have to try the software).

Keep voting and leaving your feedback, I will try the others as soon as I can.

I voted for Betcoin.ag because this is where I find the best and most GTD freezeouts and the highest buy ins.

Saying that though I do play at SWC for cash games on the rare occasion that I want to have a change.

Cash games are better at SWC poker? Because like I said I did like the tournaments offered by betcoin.ag, but the offer in cash tables was a little weak. Sometimes I can play at 2 tables, but they are not even full, and I enjoy playing at 4 normally.

Are cash games better at SWC, hmmm as I said it is not that often that I play ring games but when I have, I have managed to get a couple of tables going and have had some fun with the guys who are usually lively in chat. Since micon missing I have not logged on to the site can only hope that it never killed SWC because that is a nice site and even if a lot of the guys are bonkers it is still a cool place to play lol What stakes do you usually play?

The question is what's the site with more players in poker?

exactly , that's what make betcoin the best in my opinion because you can play WPN tourneys
ring games seem dead in all btc sites but SWC is maybe the best in ring games
in total all bitcoin sites need to be improved

Same, I use to play at BitcoinPoker.gg and it is a great site but currently there aren't any players, mostly because they stopped the freerolls some time back and thats when everybody left. I want to try SwC but I don't want to download their software to play and would prefer a browser based game.

I'm just trying them out, so I'm playing in micro stakes. I only deposited 40 chips on betcoin.ag, and will probably do the same with some other rooms.
I would really like to see these houses to unite and create a poker network, like Ipoker. I mean they still have their room names, so they are independent from each other, and players have separate accounts etc, but they all would play together on the same network.

Any idea why this never happened?

that is a good idea but I think it's hard to achieve , first of all they need to program their own client then connect sites together
but this really may develop btc poker , right now I'm sure more than 70% of betcoin poker players chose them because they are a part from the WPN
so you can enjoy good tournaments with good traffic and using btc
let's hope someday this will happen

Why do you say luckyFlop is the poker room with more players online? If I check luckyFlop, betcoin.ag and swcPoker sites wright now this is the result
LuckyFlop: 35 players online
Betcoin.ag: 286 players online
swcPoker: 128 players online

None of them has to many players, but luckyFlop is quite far from being the poker room with the most players I think.

The figure about betcoin poker room is incorrect, should be 3K-7k, 286 is the players online on betcoin.ag, it means that the gamblers play in sportsbook, casino, doesn't mean the number of poker room, you should open the poker room client, there is a figure there, usually there are 4-800 players play in 10USD freerolls, how can be only 286 players online? :D

That was the number of online players (and yes they were probably divided between all the offers of the site, like casino, poker etc). I was just saying that that was a big difference so I don't think that luckyFlop has more players than these other 2 sites.

i had the most fun at betcoin.ag so that's what I voted for.  It just seemed like the least threatening group and also the easiest going people.  Other places were really tight or people were just rude.  But really... I haven't found a large enough crowd to play in yet online with bitcoins.  It's very limited online.

there will always be "rude" comments on everybody play, because people are just angry and frustrated when they lost their hands, like yesterday i played some freeroll tournament at betcoin.ago, there was some guy so frustrated losing his hands he named me with all kind "nice" words just to insult me, if you know what i mean. My point is, dont use speech window and alway do something else behind as i do like practicing for distraction.

Crazyjack is right, you can't really pay attention to what people are saying. Besides, that will not bring anything to your game. When I'm at cash tables I just keep the statistics tab open and don't even look at the chat.

Anonymous online sportsbook ,poker and casino at its best. No documents, no bullshit, I voted for it definitely.

kingofbitcoin, or anyone else, do you know the average time to make an withdrawal?
I requested one yesterday, they said it could take up to 15min to new accounts etc, but it is almost a day since my request and nothing.

I requested one yesterday, they said it could take up to 15min to new accounts etc, but it is almost a day since my request and nothing.
(I already verified the transaction by email)

Just emailed the support, I have withdrew from there twice before, once I withdrew 8.3btc and it arrived within some hours, second withdrawal was completed with 2 hours, I think it is fast for me, I am satisfied with their speed of withdrawals so far.

Wish you get your money asap, when u get the money just update here.

I deposited 0.04 btc to try the poker room, which is equivalent to 40chips. I did well in the cash tables and specially tournaments and asked to witdraw 100chips leaving there the initial deposit but still nothing for now.

I talked with live support and they said that I should get it later today.
I will update this tomorrow or as soon as I get the money.

Ok finally got my withdrawal. For some reason there was a problem with it but it is now solved and they finalized the transaction.

I will still test more poker rooms before voting, but for now the experience in betcoin.ag has been a very pleasant one, even with this delay.

Very good tournaments, and depending on the time of the day it's possible to play ate 3-4 cash tables (at least in micro stakes).

glad to hear mate , withdrawals take time in betcoin but I have never waited more than 24 hours
they review your activity to make sure that nothing fishy was happening , but for sure they need to process the withdrawals faster

Made a search for poker rooms and ended up on this thread. I read some good things about betcoin.ag and I will try it out, then I will leave my review.

By the way, is the vote closed or can't I vote because of my rank?

Betcoin.ag by far :-\ sorry missed the voting deadline

I came back when i was able :-D

i had the most fun at betcoin.ag so that's what I voted for.

Yeah you cant expect strangers your are playing online for money to always be nice.  You can either block the chat if the site has that feature or just stick a post it note over the chat box in screen is another idea.

Like I said before I decided to give betcoin.ag a go, and I recomend them.
Their free depositers freeroll is very nice, not many players on it, most of them disconected, so it gets easy to get on prizes. The other tournaments have just the right ammount of players o guarantee good prizes, but not to be forced to play them for so long. So I love the tournaments there.
As for cash tables, not to many players, but a decent ammount, you can even multitalbe a bit if you want (2-3 max, depending on the stakes).

Their recent software improvement was good to, so yes, betcoin.ag!

I have always wanted to give this a shot, I can recall the days of having an urge to try the online poker rooms, this was without bitcoin of course, but still now with the much better Currency haha, it's time to rehash the old thrill of the game, I'll take a look at the results of pull thus far and poke about for a bit, due diligence is key here if yo want to make smart choices :)

Like I said it probably depends on the stakes and time of day. For now I was only able to do it at 3 max, and I could not even play at the same stakes. But I don't multitable a lot, so its not an issue for me.
