Title: Hosting Recommendations
Post by: rdonohoe on June 02, 2011, 11:23:38 AM
Hi,

I am looking for a privacy conscious hosting service that can provide reliable service for a small site.
Our current host is very slow and while we do not want to spend a lot of money we are willing to pay for a good service.

We need php/mySQL on a linux box, SSL and domain registration.
We also aren't that tech savy so a control panel would be great.

Anyone got any good recommendations?

Thanks,

R

Hostmonster.com is ok. They have private registration options, but that might not be as private as you're looking. Good rates, especially if you hunt around for coupons.

Bluehost.com is also good. I like it.

I would recommend http://x10premium.com they got cheap plans. And the longer you pay for at once the cheaper it is. If you buy 2+ more years at once you get a free domain too. If you order 3 years you get a free SSL certificate too, otherwise if you pay for 1 month/1 year/2 years you would have to order a dedicated IP too for an extra fee ($1/month or $10/year).

Their support rocks, and the features are awesome. cPanel 11.25 is included in all packages.
