Title: Budding film maker agrees to sell feature length films for BTC
Post by: slothbag on September 26, 2012, 01:44:35 PM
A good friend of mine has just completed his first feature length film/documentary and has just launched his new company and website selling his films online.

It's a great mountaineering documentary and inspirational in both showing what the human body is physically capable of achieving but also a great example of the quality of film that can be produced from commodity production equipment on a shoestring budget.

If your looking for comparisons of work, think Bear Grylls or Survivorman except not as cheesy.  He films it all himself with no crew and does all his own production.  There is some great scenery of the Himalayas and plenty of amazing time-lapse footage.

The film has been entered into several film festivals around the globe, will post back if it wins any awards :)

In exchange for me helping with his website he has agreed to accept Bitcoins as payment for his films.

Check out http://pattisonproductions.com and pick up a piece of 100% original content that you wont find at your local Walmart or Kmart.

As someone who rather enjoyed the recent film A Lonely Place To Die (sure, Melissa Gorgeous is in it; almost any Aussie woman is a deal maker for yours truly, I'll happily confess), this project sounds quite interesting indeed. My father enjoyed these mountaineering shenanigans back in the day of dinosaurs roaming the countryside. ;D

Haha, i'll suggest he get Melissa George in for the next film, not sure if there's the budget for it though..  Depends how well High Ambitions does I guess :)

As a budding film maker myself, I understand the challenges of shoestring budgets and film production. However, at the same time, I feel that shoestring budgets enhance the passion of the film maker in the film. I wish your buddy luck, and I hope to follow in their footsteps (albeit in a different genre) soon. I'll stop by and grab a copy when I can afford it :)

I bought a copy and watched it. Apparently mountain climbing involves a lot of waiting around in camp and eating pringles :D

Ha.. yeah I think they live off pringles and chocolate for a few weeks straight while attempting those climbs, guess there ought to be some pleasure whilst climbing 15 hours straight :)
