Nothing investment which not have a risk, there are have, but the it's depends on their company, which have low risk, mid risk or high risk. Most all cloud mining service is ponzi scheme, be careful before invest, you should check their company profile first. And now I think bitcoin mining is not really profitable.

The only advice I can give you (from my personal experience) is: Don't invest in cloud mining. Most of them are ponzi (or become ponzi after a few of time). Those that are not ponzi take the money and you will not be sure if you will have again your invested money. Mostly because of the continuous rising difficulty in mining bitcoin. So the owner of cloud mining take your money and take bitcoin even from your mining process. You take that part that remains that is not enough to make your money invested or profit.

You can sell your cloud mining shares anytime you wanted to, unlike any other sites wherein you cannot sell your shares (which is shady already). Hashnest is also a good cloud mining service and they too are a legitimate company like bit-x. They are around for quite some time now and they already build a solid reputation in this community. You choose from the two and you'll be fine.

I still use invest some in cloud mining, but not a lot, I only a buy a few GHs in sites like Hashnest, CEX.io, and Bit-X, and normally I dont earn much from them. If you want to invest in cloud mining, I think it is ok. Diversify and spread your investment across different sites, and do not invest everything you have in one go.

Recently started altcoins trading again, earn about few thousand satoshis only from time to time.. :P Depends on the risk you are willing to take too, all about risks. :)

From my previous experience on bitcoin (almost 2 years), it's still better to invest BTC on legal and trusted CloudMining than playing on HYIP sites.

Mining in home electricity is more expensive. That's why a lot Mining Company try to build Mining Factory in some country with lower electricity bill.
And for today mining rate, i think (for myself), mining is not too profitable again.
