Title: Name Change Notification Post by: d4n13 on July 26, 2015, 01:02:17 AM Admin/Staff,
I am planning on changing my userid. Seeing that I don't have sufficient rank to perform a name change, I will likely just create a new account and start to post from it. I realize that this isn't strictly against forum rules, but wanted to post this thread so that my intent is clearly stated and not seen with suspicion. If I receive no advise against this over the weekend, I will post the new userid here. Thx. Title: Re: Name Change Notification Post by: ACCTseller on July 26, 2015, 01:20:17 AM Such notification is not necessary. There are no rules agains having multiple accounts, and many people have several for a number of reasons including, but not limited to, safety, privacy, not having their "main" account associated with controversial statements, signature deals.
There is also no activity based rank that will allow you to change your displayed name. The only way you can change your display name is if you donate 50BTC to become a VIP or become a moderator. Not really needed in my opinion. Many people create new accounts and it would get very annoying if everyone signed a message in meta or gave us a notification that they were doing so Title: Re: Name Change Notification Post by: jambola2 on July 26, 2015, 02:31:48 PM You should post a signed message to prove that the new account is really you and not an impostor. But if he already opened a post to write about his change of name, it seems like he wants people to know about it. (I don't get why) And if that is the case, a signed message acts as proof. I don't see what reason is there for publicly showing that you're making a new account, but if you really want to, a signed message will make others more sure of the change. It would help with any continuing or long term business deals that he may have with people so that they know his previous account is no longer in use and that they should contact him via the new account. ^^ This ^^Code: -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- |
