Title: My new AWESOME Mining setup
Post by: BitShark1 on July 26, 2015, 04:13:41 PM
No pics yet, ill show you guys soon

We are currently running in a datacenter, with FREE power... We will break even within 4 months

We currently have x3 antminer S5, | x1 S3 | x1 S3 plus

We are currently looking at about 7th/s, and some overclocking...

Ill update with pics soon!

so you payed around 5 btc for all those equipments?

your current hash should be 4400 gh/s x 0.04 a day x 120

it seems a good price, they are probably used machine

Looking forward to the pictures, which could also be posted in the miner porn (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=766998.0) thread.

Out of curiosity, what is the source for the free power - were you able to reach some accommodation with the datacenter to run the miners? Do they perhaps run on renewable energy and are unable to sell it back to the grid? Or some other situation?

Anyway, I'd also like to see those pics; be sure to update the thread with them later. :)

Would love to see some pictures, rather jealous of the free power as its expensive here (upwards of $0.15/kw).

Were the miners brand new or used?

I like the free power, where did that come from?  If your in the Midwest are you interested in expansion and having a member join you in your free power lifestyle?

LOL... we'd ALL like free power to run our gear :).  Looking at OP's posts he's promoting his own BTC faucet... maybe that's the source of his free power?  LOL... revenue earned from his faucet pays the datacenter costs.  With only 7TH/s of gear... let's assume 7 S5s.  4.13 kWh of power use.  At $0.10, that's $9.91 a day.

It would be interesting to know the source of free power, whether its just someone giving it away free or if its some kinda renewable. I don't think renewables are anywhere near cost effective but maybe.

Me too, I am interested in the free power :)  I could be rich with free power lol.  Mine costs 30 cents /kwh, and is tiered!  So my mining rig is: hashnest :P

OP mentions they are hosted in a data center with free power. I hope he does not mean one of those shady non-transparent data-centers. It is real easy for someone to offer free electricity and cheap hosting if they never plan to pay the user. Sometimes you can even buy the "hardware" from them, but chances are it is just vaporware.

Do you mine solo or are you in pool? If yes, which pool?
Waiting photos of your setup.

You could always dedicate all them hashes to solo mining... Break even within 5 minutes to 1.9 million years!

FREE power?
Does the owner of that data center has an idea that there's an ongoing mining activities happening in his data center or you guys are off grid and you have your own auxiliary power generator

I just want to see your methods of receiving this free power. Show us pictures of that.

There is no free lunch, so why free electricity?

Renewable energy is not free energy.

My datacenter used to have free power, they don't monitor the power usage :)
