Hi,

I told a friend today about bitcoin. And they told me "their site is down."

For a newb the wiki is the site of Bitcoin... and when it's down - this is so bad for us as a community.

So we need to backup and mirror.

Ways you can help:

1. Donate usd/btc to the points below ( for non-tech users or users with no time and btc at hand)
2. Help write an auto-refreshing-mirror-in-a-box for the wiki's xml - for easy install on any webhost [ overall cost - 5h or work - around 100 usd ]
3. Install such a mirror on a server of yours [ cost should be 0.5 - 1 h to do - 10 usd ]
4. Host the mirror continuously [ cost 5 usd / mo , 60 / year]

I begin writing the script and will post any updates here. I will also setup several mirrors.

The wiki is constantly changing, because it is a wiki, but the information is mostly complete or updated.

I suggest a simple large file compressed in "normal" static html format in folders (directories), so that anyone can make an instant mirror using any web host provider.

You could host the original file somewhere, or have it uploaded as a torrent or something similar. Anyone who wants one can get it.
