Mike Tyson has been known for a lot of things over the last 25 years. Scaring every man alive, winning boxing world titles, and going to jail for rape. Now, Tyson wants to add Bitcoin business endeavors to his legacy, as he begins to leverage his brand towards his new Bitcoin ATM venture on Twitter this past weekend.
Tyson Promotes Bitcoin to almost 5 Million Twitter Followers

Mike Tyson has been keeping himself busy making personal appearances and one-man shows on stage in recent years. His next business move is directly tied to Bitcoin ATMs, and he claims to have knockout power when it comes to fast conversions from fiat currency to digital money. He has 4,888,264 Twitter followers, gaining almost 3000 daily, and he announced on his Twitter feed his future Bitcoin intentions over the weekend.

The MikeTysonBitcoin.com website is a simple landing page that mentions Bitcoin Direct LLC at the bottom of the page, before simply asking for an email and relaying the following message:

MIKE TYSON’S FASTEST KNOCK OUT IN THE RING WAS 30 SECONDS.

THE MIKE TYSON BITCOIN ATM CAN TURN YOUR CASH INTO BITCOIN IN UNDER 20 SECONDS.

Once you enter your email, you’ll get a confirmation of joining his Mike Tyson Bitcoin newsletter, which eventually should provide details for future details about his involvement. Having joined the list for this report, CoinTelegraph will keep you posted on any significant future developments. Spotlighting Bitcoin to almost 5 million mainstream Twitter users is significant enough. Tyson is ranked #434 among the Top 500 of all celebrities in Twitter followers worldwide, just ahead of Serena Williams and behind Skype, according to twittercounter.com.

It could be. More than a few stars have lost fortunes because they naively agreed to partner up with scammy or flaky companies.

But that said, it's great news for Bitcoin!

Look at his face as he passionately kisses the pigeon, does that look like the face of someone who would hurt a fly?

This is quite big. In one jab Mike Tyson has knocked bitcoin to more people than anything before! If even 1% gets interested in bitcoin, the bitcoin users would increase by the same number, if not more :)

A representative for Tyson did not immediately return request for comment, although the message from his official account appeared to suggest his authorization of the business.

Still, tech news site SiliconAngle reported that Tyson himself may have been "suckered into a deal by a fast talker who has promised him millions if he gets involved and lends his name to the enterprise." It cited MikeTysonBitcoin.com's registration to a Peter Klamka, who is connected to Bitcoin Brands—a firm with a paltry $6,780 market cap according to Google Finance.

Speaking to CNBC over the phone, Klamka disputed that account, saying that Bitcoin Brands has nothing to do with his Tyson venture, which operates under the moniker Bitcoin Direct LLC.

This new firm (which Klamka says is a subsidiary of cattle company Conexus Cattle "for financing") seeks to create a whole suite of celebrity bitcoin-related products. He told CNBC that he came to the idea after previously working with celebrity credit cards tied to Kiss, Donald Trump and Hello Kitty.

The Tyson-branded bitcoin ATMs, which are slated to launch in two Las Vegas locations in about three weeks, will feature "Mike branding on the software" and will "hopefully have the ability to build a database of Mike's fans that are bitcoin users," Klamka said.

The venture is a 50-50 split between Tyson and Bitcoin Direct, he added.

So the idea basically is that people will follow their idol into using bitcoin and that they would use a mike Tyson atm over another brand atm?

I'm not sure Mike Tysons business/real estate ventures have been all that sucessful in the past.

I wish him luck with this, and hopefully his influence can get more people to become interested and use btc.  I'm just not sure why people would trust a former boxer enough to create a secure, easy to use and reliable bitcoin atm, and actually use it.

It's great exposure for us, it really is. With 5 million followers he can make people aware of bitcoin that weren't before. I think it's a pretty significant bit of news & the negative people can go to hell. Any other ideas how 5 million new people could become aware of bitcoin? No! We have to embrace every positive mention of bitcoin in the mainstream media, Lord knows we need it.

Exactly.
If he has 1M followers, apparently that 300k of them never heard about bitcoin, and now its their first time.
Even if 10k of them will buy some, it will be very good to our community.
