"Sunday in Reno, Nevada, the infamous gay-pride rainbow flag replaced the American flag over City Hall. The outrage was immediate. For very good reason, many see the gay pride flag as a symbol of oppression, hate and bullying. City leaders eventually backed down claiming that the fascist gay-pride flag was supposed to fly with the American flag, not replace the American flag.

What the so called "city leaders" do no realize, IMO, is that ordering it to fly alongside the American flag is as repulsive to many as flying it by itself, maybe more so. What say you? Should city leaders allow gay fascists to replace the American flag with the Gay flag, and if not that, to fly it alongside the American flag?

I read a few articles on this already and I really have give the author of this particular one credit for pointing out who is really being oppressed by this flag.

This was a flag on a government building, you know, the very thing were complaining about a month ago. Yesterday some descendants of an unknown African tribe killed a man because he had the flag you leftists object to on his car.

heh I like how they said it was supposed to fly WITH the american flag... where is the second flag pole on that building? because uhhhh I only see the one... and if a second flag were to put me lets say directly under the other flag, it would probably be touching the roof of the building and dragging along its top... so were they going to connect them at the same points and fly both flags connected together which no flag should be connected to or fly above the american flag...

so what were they REALLY planning to do... lol

It is a federal crime to display any other flag above the US flag. There are no federal penalties imposed for this, but some states do choose to have criminal penalties for this.

After this you guys might wanna consider re-raising the Union Jack instead :). Those sugar and stamp taxes are not that much ;). Your experiment with providing freedom and get rid of all forms of oppression have failed (it was a nice try though), so come on guys get over it and go back to the time tested proven good ways :).

If they do, there are a lot of other flags that are going to have to be given equal rights.

People do things like this, like ignore laws, and such, to fly a flag they know will upset someone, they are doing it to upset someone. They want people to notice it, call in, complain and have it be in the news, and make it look like the one complaining is in the wrong, lol.

I agree with you. A country's flag should not be flown alongside any other non-Governmental, non-Territorial flags. And State or Federal buildings shouldn't be engaging in making an opinion any topic (let alone one as charged as this). The building represents an institution that represents EVERYBODY in the jurisdiction, not one minority or one majority.

Things are going overboard in the United States. Why should a flag representing just 2% of the population should be given this much importance in a government building? What about the remaining 98% of the population? I have no problem in Reno officials flying the LGBT flag. But why can't they fly the straight flag as well?

Because even though it's nobody's business what people do in their own bedroom, it seems though it's everybody's business tio know how proud they're about it and have to advertise it in the loudest way! (Double standards)

Not just that. By giving such undue importance to the 1% of the population who happens to be sodomites, they are effectively discriminating against the remaining 99% of the population which is heterosexual. Protecting the rights of minorities is OK, as long as the rights of others are not infringed upon. But that doesn't seems to be the case here.

If that is true I think many Americans will feel offended. Especially true political party components will not name.

I don't have anything against gay people but this is the shit that bothers me... Why can't you just shut the fuck up and carry on with your lives... what do they want to prove? This is just pissing off people.

You know what is really funny, if you talk to most gays or lesbians this kind of shit pisses them off more than the most bigoted redneck you can find. Most homosexual people just want to be treated like everyone else, and these kind of activist groups are what actually draws more hate and discrimination towards them and makes living like everyone else more difficult.
