Hopefully everyone here is smart enough to use escrow. Bought bitcointalk.org account, new LBC account that is not funded and includes a number to contact him outside of LBC are red flags IMO. I am not sure why anyone would be dumb enough to trade outside of LBC escrow when responding to an LBC advertisement. Probably greed. When LBC escrow is used (or when a trusted escrow is used), there is someone who is protecting the bitcoin until the fiat is successfully transferred to the party selling the bitcoin. It may sometimes be prudent to complete a trade outside of escrow (for example if one of the parties is highly trusted), although this is clearly not the case in this situation.
