Title: Starting a Bitcoin Networking Group (And You're Invited)
Post by: Paleus on August 01, 2015, 01:16:17 AM
Hi Guys,

Over the course of the last few months or so, I have come to the realization that there is a genuine lack of a professional networking group for bitcoin enthusiasts and business professionals. Because of this, I decided "why not start our own?"

Click Here for Networking Group (https://www.linkedin.com/grp/home?gid=8142816)

Diginomics Insider exists to provide networking opportunities for business professionals and investors in the bitcoin and digital money industry.

This is an exclusive group where we manually approve each member once we have learned what their goals are. Therefore, you may be asked to provide some background on your interest in the bitcoin industry and your current professional role.

Toward this end, we provide networking opportunities and educational content designed to help you benefit from this radical reshaping of our conventional systems.

I look forward to collaborating with you and hope to see you in the group!

Notice: This group is operated through LinkedIn. If you would like to not use LinkedIn, you can join our discussion mailing list.

Good luck with this. You may find that not many people in the BTC world are willing to use their personal LinkedIn accounts though. Most of us value our anonymity and prefer to be just a screen name on the internet.

Totally true. Many times this describes myself.

However, I like to think this group is for people who want to get professionally involved in the bitcoin industry - something which may take more than being a pseudonym on the internet.

Hey,
sounds good to me.

I had to delete my old LinkedIn for compliance reasons(Fuckin FiNRA)

but I am with a new investment firm and they allow us to have LinkedIn, just didn't care enough to recreate it before.

Hmm. Nice idea you have there. I would like to join if there is option not to use LinkedIn. As what foodstamps stated, most Bitcoiners would prefer using a pseudonym on the internet. This is one of reason why Satoshi Nakamoto (an online pseudonym) create Bitcoin.

linkedin is a good source of leads from different groups and i guess BTC enthusiasts is more likely welcome in linkedin. However some BTC users prefer not to be identified and use fake accounts. we have a BTC FB group in our country and most are using mickey mouse name

GorillaSocial (http://www.GorillaStake.com/social) is new and lets you create a new account or login with Twitter and stay anonymous. We have over 100 members now, mostly in alts. The site is still in Alpha, although a lot of good contacts have started using it, and we haven't even started trying to move towards the BTC crowd, yet

If you really want to do a full time job in the Bitcoin space, I see no reason why you shouldn't used linkedin.

@OP - I suggest you mention linkedin in the OP subject. That should help summarize your post.

Very good initiative. Only that the people who will be involved I think that will not to many. As I saw there are to many professional things and I think that there were not to many that who can be interested on it. People may not have to much time to devote to bitcoin because are occupied with the everyday stuffs that need to feed their family. For bitcoin it maybe is enough to know for what exist, when to store and the price. Maybe I'm wrong ( I hope to be wrong) but this is what i think. Anyhow, I wish success to the organisators and maybe one day I will join even if I don;t have a LinkedIn account.

I see that to be member of this group must be member of LinkedIn. I don't understand why this condition. The people that don't have LinkedIn account doesn't deserve to part of this bitcoin community? What make special someone with LinkedIn account? I don't have one and I will not have one. LinkedIn is very annoying and don't serve for nothing. Sent every moment emails with updates and this is boring. So, good chance with this group and may your bitcoins grow up every moment.

I treat bitcoin as a hobby as I am retired. I am trying to trade bitcoin and hoping to eventually build up enough funds to buy a decent quantity of bitcoin. Do not use Linkedin as I believe there is no privacy.

Is there activity in the group ??? Most of the content comes from you just sharing news (not even a personal comment). Looks even worse than G+ BTC groups (opinions on news and lots of referral spam).

I do not have a LinkedIn profile, though (I have been thinking on opening an account, but I do not have the time to manage it as it should be).

The group is very new so it takes some effort on my part to kickstart the group with postings, comments, etc.

It is my hope as more people join, it will take on a life of its own.

What's going on with all these new Bitcoin groups? I have seen several invites in the last few weeks to join some Facebook groups, now this group that connects you with LinkedIn!

I mean are these only the individuals who are organizing this or is there something bigger and better hidden behind this?

Can we keep something between just me and you? You're clearly on to something.

What were are planning to do here is get a bunch of the bitcoin users in one group, expose them, then capture all their personal information. This is actually just a front for that very purpose.

Once we have all this accomplished, we will download spyware onto their computer and steal all their bitcoin.

But please, don't say anything.

I think they have a different, this group is a professional group and has a strict rules.
