i recently joined Ozcoin and left because of the 3% forced fee and joined eclipse because the fee is 0%

and they both use the same payout (DGM)

so can anyone tell me should i mine at Eclipse or go back to Ozcoin

I can tell you that ozcoin is run by a pretty good guy who is helpful and active in the community. It is also a medium sized pool, so you aren't supporting the giant's nearly as much.

There will also likely be longer round times, so time between mining a share and being paid for it is likely to be longer, espescially compared to a huge pool or a pps pool.

OzCoin is great, guy is up on any problems and available. That being said, Eclipse guy is up on things too

BitMinter.com is another great one with only requiring 1% donation for you to receive instant payout without waiting 120 confirmations for BTC

is bitminer DGM?

PPLNS basically you should expect the same reward and variance, don't quote me on this thought

Which pool gets you the best return?  Which one gives the best service to you?  There may be other things more important to you.  Anyway its your choice.

I think all three are excellent pools, thought I prefer bitminter myself.

eclipse has higher hashrate so should be more regular payments, average over weeks or months of course

i like Eclipse also because so don't need to have 0.10 to take a payout even 0.01 is just fine

and have you seen the DWOLLA payout?

yes i have seen it but not used it.

Not today :D, 2 TH and today last 9 hours to find a block. Luck works this way :D, tomorrow will be a better day for sure :D

Ozcoin gets my vote, Graet is great to do with as well.

The main reason I like Eclipse for is the ability to instantly sell your NMC for BTC through the pool itself:)
no hassle getting a wallet and going to an exchange etc..

I don't want to troll, but the main reason is the easy way of convert a 1% of your rewards?

At least, you have a reason  ;), I'm mining at EMC, even this last unlucky days and I don't know why.

Last time I change EMC to Litecoin because of bad luck, and next day luck reach again over 50%, so I am still in EMC, or better I must leave so luck will back to all of you?

Ozcoin also has an auto convert NMC to BTC feature - you just need to check the box in User Account -> Pool Options, we have been doing that since we moved to DGM.
Ozcoin also pays out the TXN fees received with blocks - something all pools will need to in time :)

My feeling is if miners get lots of 0.01BTC payments they will pay higher txn fees when they go to spend the coins from their wallets due to the combining of a lot of small inputs to make a transaction.
As much as I hate people storing money on the pool I encourage people to set a 1BTC payout - in the long term this works out cheaper for them.
I realise super small miners need to wait longer to get *any* payout and if there was demand we could set really low payouts - but there has been no-one asking.

Well I have tried many 0% fee pools, this is a comparison between the 0% fee I tried :)
Though I do not think the pool has anything to do with the luck.
If you have a suggestion for another 0% fee pool? please enlighten me :)
afaik eclipse is the highest hashing power pool of the 0% ones. right? more hashing power means a bit less variance iirc.

as it is the only DGM pool without fees for now.

I personally prefer MaxBTC because their site looks really nice and I love their graphs. They use DGM for payout as well and they're currently the pool with the lowest ping for me (30 ms :)). Their only downside is that they keep transaction fees. :-\

Put another way, do you want to pay a small fee to support the pool and get paid transaction fees or pay no fee and not get paid transaction fees (and potentially lose the pool in the future)?

Is that how that works?  I've been wondering why some of my transfers incur a fee and some others don't!  I just wasn't curious enough to google it :P

Good thing I set mine to payout at 1BTC when my hashes got over 1GH/s

I get a 5% reject rate from eclipse, even though my ping is low 80's.

I would have thought its a pretty important thing for miners - oneday it is where the pay for mining will come from.

Wow, MaxBTC are the lowest ping time for me too ~25ms, considerably lower than the others, and I've got Fiber to the premises.  Looks like I'll be joining MaxBTC.

I mine on Slush since the begining (Dec 2010), it was the first pool created, the guy is very present, professional, and act quickly if needed.  I'm very satisfied in that pool, nice website, all fine for me...

Been mining on Slush since i got into bitcoin a month ago. steady payouts, Slush is responsive and friendly when you have a question or concern.

Slush is still hoppable ;)

I mine on Eclipse, it has been great, although the US server has gone down twice in 2 months. No biggie, I just switch to the EU server and it's all good. My first pool was Slush, then Deepbit, now Eclipse.

ozcoin has never gone down for me. Bitminter had a few issues in the past when he was updating the server/api, but even when the webserver died the mining server was still operational.
