Title: Are there any Ethereum clones yet? LiteEthereum?
Post by: hankman on August 01, 2015, 06:37:34 PM
I'm looking for a good Ethereum clone. Maybe LiteEthereum?

I assume many people are working on these. Who ever gets it out first will be in for a good pump n dump.

Ethereum had an ICO and bad initial mining distribution. I believe it to be a failure already. If someone gets better distribution their Ethereum could take over as the #1. I know I won't be using the real Ethereum so that rich investors can get richer.

Please pm me if you are working on an Ethereum clone. I want to help out with getting users to create their tokens on this new Ethereum.

Clone what?  Ethereum right now is a command line wallet..   The 1980s are calling..  :D

http://dapps.ethercasts.com/

This list is very Déjà vu.  A lot of the ecosystem daaps remind me of stuff we have seen from NXT, Bitshares and CounterParty back in 2014 and many of their projects are further ahead than Ethereum's - aka Ethereum is bringing nothing new to the game.  Gambling games like slots, casino and prediction (Augur) is also pushing the legal envelope, when you have public developers, and it won't result in viral adoption.

2.0 currencies are very boring with these gambling apps.  Everybody knows about Satoshi Dice / Erik Voorhees ($83 million June 2014) and then decided: "hey I will make my own gambling app for them riches!".  Not only does it show they have zero imagination but also very stupid for attempting to copy someone who was charged by the legal authorities and only avoided prison by reaching a settlement.  I doubt any copycats will get the settlement option.

A lot of these coins also have asset exchanges are also rife with ponzis and scams and then the users of those coins wonder why nobody wants to buy their scam-enabling platforms...

2.0 currencies are a complete gong show right now...  the truth has to be said, unfortunately.

Aethereum will clone Ethereum and give all the coins to bitcoin holders, so the power of Bitcoin2.O will be in the hands of each and every one of Bitcoin1.O users and developers!

Once the power of Ethereum is in the hands of the bitcoin developers (thousands of brilliant minds), then the real (grand scale) Bitcoin2.O development can begin!

Armory wallet for Ethereum
Coinbase/WinkDex support
Adam B Levine will have a "Let's talk Ethereum" show
"Today's Mad Ether's" on "Mad Ethercoins"
Voorhees will make Ether-Dice

and the beat goes on. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEfK-3Lwph0#t=23s)

GREAT Idea! Too bad I don't have enough BTC to get excited. I probably have more Ether than BTC. I will look at buying Aethereum when it hits an exchange. I assume it will start out way cheaper than Ether. I hope it's not just a scam for big BTC holders to dump Aether on me :P

Are there any other Ethereum clones being worked on?

maybe u dont like competition

There is no competition in open source silly,  The technology is free!  If you want what he has, you don't have to kill him and take it from him (or spread FUD and call him names). That was the old paradigm.  Now all you have to do is "ctrl-c" and suddenly you have the identical power of the open source force!

wow u are dumb, im talking about competition in crypto.

Lol you're the loser.  $18 million shitcoin ran by a kid and a failed academic, envious of the billions made by bitcoiners and 100s of millions by the 2.0 project.

Ethereum is Mastercoin 2.0.  Spamming cryptonews sites and doing bugger all, while insiders walk away.

Counterparty (xcp) cloned ethereums turing complete smart contracting systems, last year.. enabling any contract written for ethereum to be run instead on the bitcoin network instead of ethereum

So thats your answer to the first ethereum clone question

AEthereum and XCP. That's not many clones yet.

I'm excited to see the first clone with it's own blockchain for mining and 0% premine!

It probably won't really get cloned until after there is a good UI.

A good UI programmer could simply create the first one, and launch his clone based on that

This is exactly my thought. If someone clones ethereum and makes a better GUI, would that be the one that gets big? This is why I want to accumulate any ethereum clone early on.

I wonder what will happen to Ethereum... is it over? Once they run out of funds will they have a round 2 crowd funding and add in a second premine?

As for clones with working GUI and same algo, no pesky ICO/IPO do deal with, faster development as can be seen with wallet.
