Title: Definite Scam - Paid But Still Awaiting BTC
Post by: Fishbones78 on August 02, 2015, 03:28:23 PM
I have paid for 0.021 BTC but am still waiting an hour later, with repeated "I am sending now" in my private messages for the BTC to be sent. I made this thread as the following was being discussed on somebody else's thread:
Just updated the price / rates overview.
Hi,
What would You offer for 0.05 BTC (PP)?
Cheers
hello
iam out of pm here yes you can send in GB....
thats the reason iam informing here
iam waiting
I have sent. My address is:
12ni588gxUPvbMuZVcZZDDFZqkEa6xTg96
yes just recived ..iam goin to do it
Still waiting.
Still no BTC, possible scammer (iamalive).
i have problem with two factor in my lbtc account...going to send you soon
It's been almost an hour since I paid.
If I don't have the BTC by half past I want a refund or I will open a PayPal case, this is way too fishy. If I receive the BTC after I open the case, I will close it.

open a case as i paid you ,you will cancell it
i have contacted with localbitcoins to solve my issue

You have not paid me, or if you have, you've sent it to the wrong address. BTC now or I'm opening a case, you shouldn't have offered to sell BTC if you don't have it.

The final nail in the coffin to safely say this guy is a scammer:
Quote
!!! WARNING: This user is a newbie. If you are expecting a message from a more veteran member, then this is an imposter !!!
yes ,kindly cancell it ,i will send you btc as you cancelled it
you can make it again if i donot send you btc
i will pay you in max 2mints after cancelling it

You can't reopen a PayPal case, he is lying. There is also no reason for him to wait for me to cancel the case anyway by his logic.
PayPal case is staying open and will not be closed unless I receive payment (which I probably won't).

Re: (No subject)
Send me the BTC now (if you even have it) or I'm done speaking with you. You're clearly a scammer and you must think I'm an idiot. PayPal case stays open until the BTC arrives with me, or customer support intervenes and gives me my money back.

You get your money back from PayPal but not from the scammer. Give this guy a bad trusting!
Don't waste your time with him!

The latest message, I'm just ignoring him now whilst laughing at his messages. Thanks for the support by the way.

Still awaiting BTC so I'm definitely not getting it. Also, I put 0.021 BTC in the post, it was actually 0.21 BTC ($60). PayPal case is still open with him still requesting I close the case, which isn't happening.

I hope you understand the reason why he wants you to cancel the case. That is, once you cancel it, it can no longer be disputed again. What was the address you sent to?

Isn't it cute how he doesn't respond any more. Bring out the eggs and toilet paper!

I know, I put that in the case and in the private messages to him, but he still relentlessly wants me to cancel, lol.
The PayPal address was:
ellenloyar@gmail.com
He also operates this website:

The PayPal address was:
ellenloyar@gmail.com
Why didn't you search his email address before sending money to him?

Googling that email, comes back with this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1064620.0) as a first result.

This is what that person's trust ratings looks like:
Quote
   Reference   Comments
Quickseller 86: -0 / +18   2015-05-18   0.00000000   Reference   Newbie giving large discounts for PayPal my cash cards and refusing escrow (you need to send first of course).

I would avoid trading with this person without escrow.

Tomatocage 211: -0 / +26   2015-05-09   0.00000000      PayPal Mycash scammer. I'll remove this once a pic of the receipt is posted proving these cards were paid for in cash.

That's a good tip, I'll search emails in future trades like you said, the first result is a scam accusation against him.
Cheers :)

I'm pretty certain they will because of the whole seller protection violation garbage, I also suspect John20 may be the same person as this guy, what email did you send John20's payment to?

Always check and do inquiry about the person with whom you are going to deal with. It will avoid much more chances of getting scam .

my question to you op, since you have a decent rep was why didnt you just pull back your money with pp or chargeback saying you bought something?

and you never got the product or some story which they happily recourse the transaction.

I'm doing that right now, but it always takes 8 days to escalate a case for PayPal review. I'll post here the outcome, although I'm pretty confident I will win :)
