Title: Deleted posts within deleted topics Post by: el kaka22 on August 03, 2015, 12:15:40 AM *Ok, this question is (quite) for signature campaign's payments, which based on post counts.
I have made some posts in some topics, however, when I check my post count next morning, it falls. When I check my posts, I found that some of them are deleted, but I don't receive a PM on this (normally when a post got deleted, we'll get a PM concerning that). Can the forum notify those who got a post deleted because of this? Title: Re: Deleted posts within deleted topics Post by: Quickseller on August 03, 2015, 12:28:07 AM When a thread is "deleted", it is actually moved to the "trashcan" by a moderator, which is a subform that is only accessible to moderators. This makes the criteria for notifications slightly more complicated because the threads are technically not deleted, and can be quickly restored if necessary.
If you have started the thread, then you can update your settings to receive notifications when a moderation function happens in your thread, although I am unsure if moving the thread to the trashcan would trigger that notification. IMO if you are watching your post count that closely then you are doing something that is not overall beneficial to the community. You can also learn which threads are likely going to be moved to the trashcan (deleted) and not post in those threads. I've made a thread about it just as you did.
As quickseller said, basically when a moderator moves it into the trashcan all posts get deducted and there is no notification (that's the problem causing confusion). You should simply avoid threads that are against the rules (orginal post). It's pretty simple to notice such a thread, e.g. do not post in a thread that has a referral link in the original post. It's always good to take another look at the full list of rules.
