Celebrities seem to act an increasingly important role in modern society which makes the credibility much stronger when they support and advocate a new technology.
So will celebrities help raising public awareness of bitcoin/blockchain technology?
Who do you think will be the best spokesperson?
Is the Hollywood actress Lucy Liu (http://www.coindesk.com/block-chain-summit-reveals-lucy-liu-as-blockchain-tech-advocate/) who has revealed her advocate of blockchain technology?

Or any other celebrities you think will best promote bitcoin? ;D

The most famous of course for footballers I'd say Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo , for actors there is planty of them but  I'd say The Rock , Vin Diesel or Jason Statham , just someone who have shitload of followers on Social media , a simple share about something speaking about Bitcoin is enough to make people explore it and read more about it .

We need someone like Katy Perry, who has millions of followers in Twitter and some actor levels Robert Downey jr.
Definitely would trigger the interest of the people

i'd go for Robert Downey Jr. like feature bitcoin in his last Iron Man movie or maybe a concert Katy Perry where bitcoins will be used to buy tickets, that way people will be introduced to use bitcoin

I guess any celebrity getting on board is good for publicity and adoption but I think the best would be one that actually knows or understands bitcoin and is a fan of it not just because they can make money off it.

in these days another celebrity could be Snoop dogg after the Italian finance has seized about $ 200,000 cash, if he had bitcoin, He would have no problem ;D ;D ;D

It doesn't matter which one it would be. They all would help to give Bitcoin a nice focus in the mainstrean medias.
Actors, singers, sportsman, athletes etc.

But some guys who are connected with technologies of course would be really great.This would fit best to promote it.

Well fame without a little bit of knowledge would not matter for long. If the celebrity has the brains to introduce bitcoin and to defend its concepts, then I'd say he/she would make a successful advocate of bitcoin. Say, RDJ? He seems to be a geek for me. Understanding bitcoin will not be a problem for him, I think.

bitcoin is a future and we need people to promote it make it as popular,but if you ask which celebrity that will be the best advocator for bitcoin, i have some opinion here:
- the celebrity must popullar based on twitter followers,youtube subscribers etc
- they have their own brand about bitcoin,and sell their stuff and got paid with bitcoin
- but there is one more important is, they should have passion about bitcoin

I would prefer someone with a sound financial background and/or successful business career.

We need people with vision, and a true interest in making a difference where it counts the most.  

Totally agree on this one. We need people who have the influence and the knowledge, not just only influence per se. Without knowledge to back up your advocacy, how would you be sure that people will follow you all throughout the way? Celebrities wouldn't just take the cut alone with their fame, they still need their brain to promote a great advocacy.

Mark zukerberg will be the bestfor that.

I think even if a celebrity tweets or talks about Bitcoin, people will still probably do a simple Google search see a few articles on Bitcoin and pass on it. What needs to happen is for a simple image of Bitcoin to be created and advertised then when a celebrity does tweet about it, people will pick Bitcoins concept up much easier.

I think Bill Gates would be one of the best people to show the world bitcoin (In a simple easy to understand format)

i also think arnold would be a good candidate, but for teens it's better to look at some young group or band that do music that are for their target and that can promove bitcoin, there isn't something better to encourage teens to embrace bitcoin

Why? Nobody can ever understand anything he says. I think ones like Nas and the Winklevi are great because they understand bitcoin for what it can achieve and have personally invested in it.

I think Beyonce & some of The Kardashian's have the most followers on social media sites so them (although the reality tv sort of culture is not my thing at all it would have to be people like them).

Would be pretty cool if a few A List actors/actresses did it too or top sports stars.

I don't think any individual celebrity will really make bitcoin big, but if we had a few hit "bitcoin millionaire" shows showing bitcoiners living in luxury with their new money, and add some drama to it, who knows, that might catapult bitcoin's popularity.

Completely agreed with this post, legitimacy would come much better from individuals with proven financial backing and are looking on as innovators at the cusp of technology.  Just to add to the list, I wouldn't mind seeing Zuckerburg or Jack Dorsey take up the BTC flag.

Exactly, most celebs only look at something to see what they can get out of it. The people I mentioned, have another goal in life. They want to give back to the people in need. Bill Gates is doing this with his Bill Gates foundation, and he has already seen the impact, it can have on the poorest nations on earth. <Remittance>

Same goes for Sir Richard Branson, he is used to taking on the giants in the corporate world. His reputation as
a Pit Bull in this field, is what we need to take on the giants <eBay / WU / MoneyGram / Banks>

Elon Musk have the experience of developing ground breaking payment methods and his developments in cheap electricity and alternative energy, makes him ideal, for Bitcoin Mining solutions.

We do not need people like Kim Kardashian with her sex tape background and reckless spending habits to represent us, we already had enough of that. ^hmf^

Two of those (bolded) are already involved or have invested in bitcoin companies at least. I think getting any entrepreneurs involved would be a good thing and many more will surely get onboard over time.

Zukerberg is a CIA shill and probably one of the last people Bitcoin (if it were an entity) would want to associate itself with.

Farcebook passes on all your activities to the NSA, and I believe Zukerberg does this willingly under the rules of 'you scratch my back I scratch yours' future benefits of business operation.

What this means in real terms, is that the CIA knows exactly the shape of the kind of asses you like based on your 'likes' activity.

I don't know why Bitcoin doesn't do what Dogecoin did, like getting the Doge symbol on a Nascar. Having a donation fund to promote Bitcoin awareness and adoption would help. Get a white Bitcoin symbol on an NBA basketball... you wouldn't even have to change the color of the orange ball for branding.

The most suitable person is Bill Gates imo, no doubt about it. Some people will think that bitcoin as a one of the ways Bill Gates have taken to make him rich, and they will follow him. Or a sportsman maybe, like Messi or Ronaldo which they have million fans in the world.

Yes, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet (this one is highly unlikely) or other very rich investors / businessman would turn the balance to Bitcoin greatly.

A pop princess saying 'hey, use Bitcoin' isn't going to do much. A well-known entrepreneur conveying how Bitcoin makes their business and life more effective is the type of endorsement that really counts. It wouldn't even be an endorsement. It would be a demonstration that speaks for itself.

Any publicity is good, but I don't really think "highly intelligent" when I see celebrities. It's the stars of business and finance that are truely the best advocates.
Remember Astin Kutcher? The guys kinda laughable. And sports stars are notoriously stupid and often terrible money managers.
Still, they command attention and respect...

I am not sure of the religious leaders, we know in this world many religious affiliations, if we use religious figures to promote, instead will reduce the interest for people who embrace different religions

Morgan Freeman and Samuel L. Jackson. Why? Because they're a fucking legend that's why. Morgan Freeman got a very good voice and charisma to promote a stuff and make it a best seller so why not on bitcoin right? Samuel L. Jackson on the other hand can convince you in a blink of an eye (not to point out a gun at you and tells you to "Say what again!")

For me i think its Morgan Freeman since he is good at narrating. I think bitcoin should not only be advertised but it should be taught to the common people as well. Most especially to those who are not computer savy. I think with enough explanation on what is bitcoin all about and how to use it will have a great impact for mass adaptation

those are there more for the money, for themselves, they are not good candidate for rising the awareness about bitcoin, you need someone that is out of the context of bitcoin and that has a different influence on different type of people

those same people that do not care about bitcoin or don't know about it, you don't need a bitcoiner to promote bitcoin, you need a good non-bitcoiner for promoting it
