If anyone doesn't know, you can get those stats at the bottom of the 'Home' page.

We had more new signups in June 2011 than the last 6 months combined.

I woudn't rely on those stats much. About 50% of new registrations are bots who only wish to post a link with anchor text at the profile page.  :-*

Sure, but unless there is some reason to think the fraction of bot accounts substantially changed in a particular direction it's good for measuring the change in interest.

I think the best indicator to gauge forum activity is the number of posts.
(users need to be active to post, no bots make posts, users rather post then start a new thread alltogether)
