Mark Karpeles, the head of defunct Bitcoin exchange MtGox, manipulated its computer system at least 30 times over a couple of years, a report said Monday, as Tokyo promised greater efforts to regulate the digital currency.

The fresh allegation against France-born Karpeles, 30, follows his arrest Saturday by Tokyo police, more than a year after the once-dominant exchange collapsed in the wake of fraud allegations.

Very interesting! So did he manipulate the MySQL tables directly and add funds to his account? Someone had accused MK of doing the exact same thing 3 years ago.

Apparently he spent customer funds of $9Mn. This is small change when compared to the value of the bitcoins that disappeared (half a billion dollars at the time the story broke).

I remember seeing an address with those funds.
So either he took out funds and replaced on tables, or something else has to come up that we not yet aware of.
