Title: How To Buy Physical Bitcoin?
Post by: Ilove-Obama on August 04, 2015, 05:24:57 PM
Hi guys,

My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and I want to get him physical Bitcoin. I need some expert views. My budget is around $300-$400...
I have the cash, what do I do next? Where do I make the purchase?

Thanks,

Titans are nice. They are solidly made, a crisp fine cut of coin.

I've always loved Titan's physical Bitcoins. However their last minted coins have the year of 2014 printed on. If there would be a physical 2015 Titan Bitcoin, then I would buy it.

Thanks,

I'm guessing by your profile name 'I love Obama' that it's really your husband Barrack Obama you want to buy the Bitcoin for, isn't it? There's no need to be shy, now. Even Obama needs Bitcoin. ;)

Just tell him to order the federal reserve to make him one... oh, wait. Hmmm, he'll have to nationalize them first I guess, then actually get the people controlling it elected, instead of self elected.

Tell him to be careful though, as the last person who was going to pull that routine on the Feds was JFK, and we all know how that ended.

ps: Lucky boyfriend... make sure you tell him to use that Bitcoin for a diamond ring when it gains in value ;)

Haha had to laugh when I read this comment.  Bitcoin?? Yes we can, Yes we can.
Regarding physical Bitcoin it's not something I ever thought of actually looking into, just looking at the Genesis thread and the coins look great.

As what the LiteCoinGuy already pointed out, https://www.titanbtc.com/ is where you can get solid physical bitcoins. Personally I'd go for Cascacius but I haven't seen much of the Cascacius guys around. :(

Is not it better from the collector point of view that something like physical bitcoin is actually older? Because older=more expensive in a 5 or 10 years?
It will be hard to get old series of physical bitcoin soon, and you should focus on being older versions instead of brand new imo.

Casascius coins are constantly for sale in the goods or auction sections of the marketplace.

Yep, I have currently 7 different Casascius coins for sale.

I would recommend a beautiful 2013 1 BTC Silver coin. Made of 1 Oz .999 silver. Fully loaded with 1 BTC.

Ok. Thanks for your reply. I guess I'll go with the 2014 Titan Bitcoin then. Preferably the 24k Gold coin. Looks beautiful  ;D

I believe that is already sold out (series one coin packages) and it'll be quite hard to obtain a physical bitcoin.
I would keep an eye on the auctions section. :)

Personally prefer Casascius coins. Casascius actually made a gold coin, 1000 BTC 1 Oz .999 Au. Even if you could find one for sale, then would it be insanely expensive, since it has 1000 BTC loaded.

There are two alternatives, if you want a crypto coin made of solid gold:
Titan (as already mentioned), there is one for sale here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1141666.0 This one is not .999 Au, its an alloy
Crypto Imperator 1 Million DOGE coin, for sale here (only 10 minted): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1017206

Stop all of this...if you want your boyfriend to love you more buy him a casascius coin.  There are plenty of people that can help you.  In that price range I would go for a 1BTC 2013 casascius brass....if you really want some love bump it up a bit and buy the 1BTC casascius silver.  Best bet.  Otherwise I would go with a lealana bitcoin.  My two cents...

+1. Casascius was one of the first coin makers and one of the most sought after. You could buy a brass one from camolist for 1.3 for a 1BTC loaded coin.

Thanks for sharing this info. I've found the Crypto Imperator Dogecoin interesting. Would get Titan and the one mentioned earlier to compliment my collection.  :D

I can sell you one of my crypto imperater doge coins if youd like.  I have plenty of solid trades on here.  Heck I would even throw in a genesis coin (my line) just cause you seem like a good girlfriend.  Let me know.

Titans are SWEEEET! Just make sure you buy a REAL one from the link above, not a cheap knockoff (fake silver) for $7 on eBay.

Shameless plug but if you want to maximize the amount of BTC given. I would go with a cheaper alternative, and put the money saved on the physical coin towards more BTC to store on the coin.

I have a few physical Lealana & Kialara coins for sale at the minute.

They don't command as high a premium as Casascius coins so may be more suited to your budget.

Shameless link to my post below. Free worldwide shipping with all listed prices.
