I am new here, but have an extensive online history.  An eBay account with 100% feedback, a longtime Youtube account, and am staff on a fairly large site.  I would link all of those here, but why ruin anonymity?  If I deal with anyone, I will provide all of that info.

I have been a lurker for a while now, I have 213 BTC in my wallet from messing around late last year, and pretty much forgot about it after last January.  I saw something about Bitcoin on Gizmodo, and I was amazed to see how high it had jumped!  I figure that now would be a good time to start contributing to the community, seeing as how BTC has a chance to be the first real decentralized currency.  I work in an industry that would greatly benefit from Bitcoin catching on, so here is to the future! :)

They call me Atlas on the sovereign web. As for real life, the name's Immanuel. I want to build things and dream of doing so all the time, in the name of assuring my own happiness and the pursuit of it for my fellow sentient beings. I see Bitcoin as a creation that will further these goals.

Godspeed.

Hello Everyone;

Newbie here, with no excuse to be so, and kicking myself for not being involved earlier.  Still, I believe Bitcoin has quite a future and I am happy to associate with such an interesting group.

I've already managed to lose my first 0.02 by forgetting the password, and am in Dwolla-Mt.Gox limbo waiting to buy my first few, looking at the stories here I'm amazed at how exponential growth has been.

Looking forward to being involved in this community.

Hi everybody! I'm unfinishe(d). I'm a young college student, I'm pretty much broke, and I'm overwhelmed by how much I have yet to learn about the world and figure out about myself (hence the name). I do programming for fun, especially crazy projects like tracing my coins all the way back to the 10,000 BTC pizza (http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=9238.msg162995#msg162995). You might see me around the forums doing whatever I can for BTC.

Welcome! I'm fairy new myself (about a month).
(snip!)
Nick

Congratulations on your decision to come out as a fairy.  The first month is the hardest, it will get easier from here  :P

In all seriousness, my introduction:

I'm a n00b and wannabe anonymized BTC grey-market entrepreneur.  So far I have started two projects but in both cases, after a few days of implementation work, someone put up a web site and announced that their vaporware implementation was almost ready :'(

Anyhow to prevent this from happening again, I'm contemplating entering a much more saturated market: online BTC gambling :)

Hello all, I made the "Unimpressed by MtGOX" thread. I put in a a very large sum of money. It has been over 48 hours, a number of rallies, and I still don't have my money on my mtgox account after being told it would be up shortly. I am highly frustrated by this and have essentially missed out on nearly doubling my money. Every moment that passes feels like watching money burn.

Damn... I remember the glory days when I thought 11.5 was a tragic jump up from the 8.5 I was on the edge of buying as I waited for my wire transfer to go through to Paxum (No dwolla in Canada). Then it did and I sent it to mtgox. Then the last 48 hours happened.

In other news, people on this forum seem quite mature and generally well spoken. =)

Hi all; I am a newbie. @Kid81 here although I hardly ever use Twitter. I am an Aussie and have been on here about 2 weeks. Must say; I am very excited but also a little apprehensive.

To those who are having trouble with MtGox money in your accounts. I was logged in to MtGox for days, It told me the money was in my account however it never came through. I finally logged out; changed my mind, logged back in and the cash was there. If you haven't already done so, log out and log in; it could solve your problem (either that or i am telling people what they already know and this isn't the issue!!!)

I am from the southern USA.  I heard about Bitcoin about 3 months ago, an I dismissed it immediately.  "Yet another internet money".  Naturally I looked into it and saw what really was and how it worked.  Despite pressure not to get involved I bought some when PayPal was still being used.  I then started mining.  I am at 2Gh/s now.  I would have been better off just buying, but mining has been fun.

I am a computer scientist and electrical engineer.  I work on robots and sensors mostly.  In my spare time I build imposing allamagoosas like Tesla Coils and electronic whirligigs.  I however know little of php and the like so it is taking a while to get my web store up.  I would price thing based on how difficult it was for me to mine coins, not MtGox.

I also perform in the theater and I create elaborate Halloween displays.
